Going by what we see on here regarding FU, wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.
Quidco email also said I would "save" £390.67. That is complete bo******, as it compares their negotiated rate with my current supplier's standard tariff, which I'm not on, and will not go to. Comparing it to my current tariff, I would save £114 for the usage I told them. There's also an exit penatly with FU. There isn't on my current tariff.
Oh well, nothing lost by enquiring I suppose...

Having just left First:Utility, on the whole I had very few problems and their website is a pleasure to use compared to E.ONs. Yes they aren't prefect and the customer service is slow ( but it does seem to resolve issues fairly successfully). I wouldn't not switch back if it was going to save me money though.

That being said Quidco seems to have taken even more poetic license than usual when advising of potential savings. I don't know where they got my current unit rates from but they are just wrong. And I don't think incorporating cashback into the savings is fair at all.

In any case, even after all that it would still cost me £2 more per year according to them.
  • Signed up in Sept. Heard nothing except deadline extended to Nov. Still heard nothing. Got email today saying that I haven't taken up the offer yet. What offer? Apparently it's First Utility. How much? Looked on their website and there is nothing about it. Searched for First Utility and got Levis Utility Jacket!

I suspect the deal is not as good as any that I can get on anyother comparison site as I have experienced before with county council's similar inept attempt.

I smell a very dodgy rat with this one!

They seem to have the right rates for me (from the e.on MSM collective switch earlier this year). I am minded not to go ahead, as while the standing charges and unit gas rates are cheaper, the unit electricity rate is higher and it doesn't have the dual fuel/online discounts that e.on has, while it does have a £60 exit fee. I also wonder why the covering email talks about "up to" £40 cashback rather than committing to a figure.
