I'd give them something - after all if you'd borrowed from a bank you would have paid interest on top of the original sum. Tell them you're repaying at Wonga's interest rate :-)0

Does your friend know you specifically borrowed the money to buy a lottery ticket?0
-
nope its your money.
If I was in that position I would take them out for some food or something, though depending on amount I'd be getting the first few rounds in for mates on a night out or something like thatHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. It's your money, I would keep quiet and hold onto it.
If you'd won millions, then maybe my answer would be different, but a year's salary isn't going to last forever, so I wouldn't be giving any away unnecessarily.0 -
I would keep itWith love, POSR0

So you've repaid your "friend" already but didn't give them anything for helping you win a years salary?!!!! Generous bar steward aren't you - call yourself a friend, I wouldn't.0

If you had not won, you would still have to repay the loan. You would not share the losses so why should you share the winnings? Of course, you may want to share some of your winnings with friends anyway but that was not the question.0

If a friend was good enough to borrow from she/ he would deserve a considerable present from your winnings.
A year's salary? I think I'd give at least a thousand.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.
(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)0 -
You are under no legal (or otherwise) obligation to pay your friend anything beyond the £2 he loaned you.
However, if it were me winning the equivalent of 'annual salary' amount, I would give my friend £200 just for being my friend.
I definitely do not think you need to split it 50/50. A decent gesture in the form of a couple of hundred to me seems enough.0 -
The fact that you have this as a dilemma suggests to me that you do not want to share the winnings.
SO JUST KEEP IT..... GOSH!0
