Cheeky PAC request?

Hi guys,

Just a quick question.

My phone contract recently came up for renewal and I found a better deal online than EE could offer me direct. The new deal was also with EE.

I know you can't port numbers from one EE contract to another, and read online that you can port your number to another network & then back to EE on my new contract. A bit long winded, but seemed easier than changing mobile number.

I cancelled my original contract and got the PAC. Bought a new O2sim and gave PAC to them, and number has now ported to PAYG O2SIM. I can now receive calls to my original EE number now on the O2SIM.

I rang o2 to ask for a PAC so I can transfer it back to EE. They said that unless I top up £10 they are unable to provide the PAC.

Is this correct or are they just trying to get me to top up?

I know it's a bit cheeky doing it that way, as technically I am "using" O2 so I can keep my number with EE.

If i have no choice I'll top up the O2 SIM but if I can get away without it I'd rather.

Cheers :)

What terms and conditions did you agree to when you switched?

Why didnt you just contract the EE retention team and say you have this offer for ££ and i want it?

  • Hi, Thanks for replying!

Not sure to be honest, I simply bought a PAYG SIM and gave O2 my EE PAC.

I did contact EE and tell them that, they couldn't match it. The deal I found was through a third party and £15p/m more with an upfront cost of £80 for the phone, whereas the third party offered a free handset.

    Thanks :)
