Zipcar damage - HELP!!

Hello all
On 6 April this year my brother reversed into my hired Zipcar and caused a very, very small dink.
Regardless, the next day I decided to be a responsible user and reported the damage to Zipcar.
I filled out their forms, provided my brother's details and did everything asked on 8 April.
On 16 April, I was informed that the car had been repaired and that the total bill was £848.60. I would be charged £750, and once the insurance claim had been settled with my brother's insurers, I would get my £750 back. I was informed as this was such an open and shut case it should only take up to 3 months. Fine. Stupid policy, but hey, if I get my money back then no problem.
Anyways, you guessed it, it's September now and almost 7 months since they took my money and I have not got my money back. I sent an irate email to them on 10 June, and it transpires that they only then filed the claim on 11 June. It took them 6 days to repair and bill me (the innocent party), but took them 63 days to file the claim and only after I pursued them for this.
Last week my brother re-iterated instructions to his insurers to co-operate and settle the claim. I also rang Zipcar and asked them to get in touch with them - their response was they would contact his insurers in their own good time. To which I got extremely annoyed and rather than give me a satisfactory answer ("yes sir, we will get in touch with the insurers now") they just hung up the phone on me.
I've emailed the CEO and got no response and sent plenty of messages on twitter but made no progress.
I'm stuck in a perfect storm of no-one wanting to settle this. Zipcar have been covered for their loss....and my brother's insurance company have no incentive to settle either.
Obviously I do not want to sue my brother for the £750 loss (which is what Zipcar also suggest I do). I just want them to sort it out with the other insurance company and get my money back.
Anyone got any clue as to what I can do?? £750 is a lot of money and I see no light at the end of the tunnel...I have no idea when I'm going to get it back!:(

Welcome to MSE. Sorry to learn of your problems with ZipCar.
This forum only deals with private parking tickets, so you're not in the best place. You may get some comments from regulars; I'm not sure if any are 'expert' in the type of issue you are experiencing.
However ....... the general Motoring forum of MSE might be the better place to repeat this thread. Here is the link:

and good luck on getting this all satisfactorily resolved. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Someone may help you here, but I suggest you put this on the Motoring Forum, pure and simple..
This sub-heading specifically deals with private parking tickets.

Have your brothers insurers been notified?0

If they are dragging their feet or not interested in claiming because they have your money then send zipcar a letter before action to reclaim your £750. They hold it not your brother.
It may make help them speed up the claim.
If your brothers insurance are doubting the claim or the value then it could drag on for a while and may not be zipcars fault.
If there is a dispute over the claim then it could be a long time before its settled, insurance companies tend not to rush.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
