How hard to DIY replace wing mirror glass?

Thanks again all. We've learnt something - we have heated wing mirrors.
We got a garage to do it - fixed today. Hubby took it to an independent near his office - £46 for Ford original replacement glass and they didn't charge for fitting.
Main dealer also said £46 for the part, but would charge £12 for fitting.
Independent initially said £20 for the part, but that was just one of those sticky jobs that goes over the top - same as what Halfords were selling. I hadn't realised what the Halfords ones were when I first posted - thought they were proper replacement glass.
Woman who whacked it asked us to email her a photo of the receipt and our account number and she's just transferred the cash - straight away! Faith in humanity restored.
Know we could have saved a few quid by not having Ford original parts, but hubby just went with what the garage said they'd get in. At least it'll definitely match the other side - my OCD couldn't have handled it if the glass looked in any way different on each side.
We realised yesterday that there are a couple light scratches on the driver's window. Looks like the glass popped out and smashed against the window, scratching it slightly. It's minor though so can't be bothered getting it changed.0 -

Know we could have saved £20 or so by not having Ford original parts, but the garage told hubby it was best and I can't get too excited over it. At least it'll definitely match the other side - my OCD couldn't have handled it if the glass looked in any way different on each side.
Still amazed the other driver managed to hit the wing mirror hard enough for the glass to pop out, but did no damage at all to the paintwork! Glad though - might have been an insurance job if it had needed paint matching.

just a FYI, if you happen to have a similar accident again.
replacing heated mirror glass is extremely easy, a simple DIY job, and will take all of 5 minutes.
not the same car, but the instructions are pretty much universal.
just pop it off, unplug the two wires and replace
