    Hi All,

I keep hearing people recommending Waitrose for quality, although they are not cheap at all. Are there really high quality products worth its price? What are your favourite products and why?

Waitrose isn't as expensive as people make out. Particularly if you pay attention to their offers.

The shave cream I buy is £4.59 in Boots, but £1.81 (with offer, £2.73 without) at Waitrose! There are many other bargains I've got in Waitrose when on offer too.
Also most ready meals are not much more than the equivilant in Tesco or Sainsburys.

I have mywaitrose card and never used it. Had it well over a year and never bothered with the free coffee or newspaper.

anyhow. Thanks to this thread I put the bold 2-in-1 pearls on my picks and I already had pepsi max on there. So saved £11 something. In there today. As the bold is on offer already.

The assistant serving me was telling me about the meat offers I smiled and said thank you. And how cheap they were it they were 3 for £10 and then 20% off on top.

Might start using them a bit more with offers like that LOL!!!

    Yours

  • 9 packs of essential Waitrose toilet paper are £3.50 each or two for £6. If you've got it on your Pick Your Own offers this brings the price for 18 rolls down to £4.60 (or if you're lucky enough to get staff discount, £3.55!). It's good quality stuff too, better than the other supermarket own brands and even big brands like Andrex I would say.

Boxes of 48 Weetabix are on offer at £3.13 but they're also on the PYO offers too which means they work out at £2.50 per box.

(comparison prices at the moment - Tesco £4.18; Asda £3.50; Morrisons £4.00)

Thanks for this comment - I've now added it to 'My Picks'. I'm always dubious about buying the basic range in any of the supermarkets, but I have to say, the Waitrose Essential seems to be better than the rest. Need to hotfoot it now, so I don't miss the 2 for £6.

That was one of the double dip offers I got the other day, glad to read the tissue is decent as well as not had their toilet paper before. Got three part boned chicken breast packs that are 3 for £10 as one of my 20% picks and ended up paying about £6.67.
  • When does the toilet tissue offer finish? I'll give it a try.
I'm trying to avoid waitrose for a few days.

  • I went to waitrose on Saturday evening after reading about these offers, got the bold, the toilet roll and some cans of pepsi max. Great value and agree the toilet roll is top quality for the price.

As from today Wed Sept 16th, Waitrose are offering a fair number of products HALF PRICE.

For instance Ocean Spray Cranberry Classic is 67p instead of 1.35 - and since I have it as one of my Pick Your Own, I get an extra 20% off, making it 54p!

I know that some of the offers are the costly branded products like Finish Dishwasher tablets ( £20 original price for 60 tablets) and Magnum Ice-Cream, and some of you will prefer the costly branded products, but others are really good.

eg Kettle Crisps 99p for 150 grams (many varieties)
Legs of lamb are half price.

Plus the free coffee ( and paper if you want), it is well worth checking what is on offer before you shop

Many thanks for this, and I wanted to highlight for those who haven't used Waitrose before and have a spare £100 you can save ~ £150 as I did:

1 - New user registration via Quidco for £5
2 - £20 off £100 code for new user as advertised on Waitrose site
3 - Order £120 of the more expensive long life half price goods (Bold, Vanish, etc) which would of cost £240 pre-sale
    4 - £120 minus the £20 voucher = £100
    5 - £100 - £5 Quidco eventually = £95

So £240 of stuff for £95.
