BT to PlusNet

I reckon I can get a better deal with PlusNet, however I want fibre.
But............our exchange is currently at full capacity so can't switch to fibre. More capacity was due July, then August/September, now October. However, there's a BT price increase imminent and I usually pay line rental a year in advance.
Has anyone had experience of switching to PlusNet on ADSL, then switching to fibre when it comes available, but still getting a good fibre deal when that happens?
