Failed Credit Check?!
Comments
-
Hello everyone,
Just to give you an update, I did check my credit score and it was 270 (no idea what that means) as I said I have no CCJ's as there is no possible way I could.
It seems that to get what I want (e.g. a house) I have to get myself in debt to get a "good" credit score!! It's ridiculous. Glad hubby passed so we can still move!!
Thank you everyone for your help

Letting agents carrying out a "credit check". That doesn't sound right. Of course Experian's Check My Tenant maybe harvests credit-related data and discloses it. It's unethical to do so, of course, but I suppose it happens.
It's a very basic credit check to make sure there are no CCJs, it sound to me like the OP possibly failed on the income /share of rent ratio, which happens quit a lot.
The LL could still accept the tenant if they failed, it just affects any insurance products they might have wished to take out, therefore increasing their risk.
Not allowed to give it out due to data protection, but there is a form an agent is sent by the referencing company.ask them for the copy, bet they didn't do one0 -

Your score means nothing, you dont get yourself into debt, you have to show you can manage debt correctly eg pay off a credit card bill on time.0 -

I have had a credit card and I did pay it on time so not sure why it's still "too low" I've always paid things on time which is confusing
the main thing is that hubby's is ok and we can still move
