    The problem with Lanzarote is the black sand.
    However, going up the volcano and having a meal cooked by its heat is quite something.

    There's no black sand beaches in playa blanca, all beaches are white

    Maybe the name is a bit of a clue...
    (They imported the sand across from Africa, apparently.)

    Lanzarote is a great choice.

    We went November a couple of years ago, and it was nice enough to sit by the pool.
    How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

    We visit southern Tenerife regularly in Dec, Jan and Feb and always manage to sunbathe and swim in the sea, although it can be a bit cold at night

    This December we are staying at Sandos, San Blas, and looking forward to it
