Why did you go to Mozilla Firefox ?
What can't you do with Firefox that you could with IE?
I ask, because so many people have said they swapped and recommend it, I just wondered what the difference was. Having just had a couple of days with IE7 and gone back to IE6, I've noticed the print is less clear. What's MF like?
Also, will I have to change printer settings or anything else?

I didn't. I moved from FF (was using FF since first beta so I'm not ignorant of what it's capable of) to IE7 as all I really needed was tabbed browsing and IE does everything I need to without the hassle of being incompatible with quite a few sites and apps."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

FF is great for power users.
IE7 is fine for newbies.
If you need to ask the question, probably just better to stick to IE7.0 -
I like the ability to use extensions in FF. It makes my browsing so much nicer.
I like: Ad-block plus, Google Browser Sync, to name but 2 I could not live without now.- = I also recognise the Robins and beep for them = -0 -
Initially i went to FF because it was faster, more secure and had tabs. IE7 has addressed some of these issues and i am told is much improved. However i also like the add ons you can use with FF.
The only downside for me is that some sites flatly refuse to load with FF but these are rducing all the time.0 -
I personally hate the IE7 minimised interface - its such a hassle to work with! I can customise it to sort it out but FF has done that all for me and its less prone to the problems an MS program has.
There are a few compatibility problems with FF but thats more down to poor web design than anything else, some web designers have become on IE focused they forget that people use things other than IE for browsing.Faith is believing what you know ain't so...0 -
FF for powerusers? Since when? I've used different browsers on different operating systems since 1993, IE has been the browser I have returned to time and time again.
I used FF for a while as I needed tabbed browsing, I now use either Opera or IE7 as they do what I need them to do.
FF is just as prone to issues as any piece of software out there and to be honest I got sick of seeing my RAM being swallowed up for no reason. That and having to completely restore a PC after a FF update went badly wrong recently has just about finished me with FF.
Browsers (as with any other piece of hardware/ software) is down to personal choice, just because you use a certain tool to do a job it does not mean that everyone else using another tool is wrong or a "newbie".0 -
I find firefox much quicker than IE plus I hate the new IE7 interface. I can't find anything!!
I also love all of the add-ons you can get for Firefox... I love Sage for reading RSS feeds in a pane of my browser, and I love Foxmarks for syncing my bookmarks on my home, work and parents PC plus I can access them from anywhere in the world!

I use a mixture of Avant Browser (an IE-shell - my favourite, used 75% of the time), FF, IE7 & Opera depending on my mood & usage.Having just had a couple of days with IE7 and gone back to IE6, I've noticed the print is less clear. If you read what I wrote you will see that I said "IE7 is fine for newbies". I didn't say everyone using IE7 is a newbie - merely that it can do everything a newbie would want from a browser. FF is harder to master (as you point out), which is why I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to newbies.0 -
I changed to FF only yesterday,, as I have a new job on an adult text site ahem... and was advised FF was quicker.
I haven't used it for that purpose yet, but so far I find it quicker than IE7, the screen is crisper and works more smoothly. You're not your * could have not of * Debt not dept *0
