Being new tw MSE I am amazed at the amount of money I have saved by going to Aldi and eating stuff out of my freezer and cupboards!! I haven't spent a penny in the second week. This is fantastic. Well, I've bust the December budget, and I'm not finished yet. DSis and BIL have decided they are coming for Christmas, which means that I've had to get quite a bit more food and drink in. It will be lovely to have everyone together though, and I have a feeling that I will still have quite a lot of frozen bits left for January, which should mean that next month will be a much lighter spend. I was also given a pottery "brie baker" today, which of course means that I have to test it with (and therefore purchase extra) brie! It's a tough job, but it's got to be done... I predict the need for the bigger jeans...:)3-6 month EF Challenge Member #19: £3590/£6000.[/B] Craft destash from 22.5.22: 46/200. Gotta love a bake brie DuranGirl nommy nom nom. I bought a YS foccaccia ring with camembert in the middle the other day. I have frozen it in anticipation of Christmas Eve

I have bought the salmon fillets for Christmas Eve dinner with Mum and inlaws. Just need to get veg and make a pudding. I'm off work on Monday thank God, so will go to the butcher and get our turkey crown and will freeze until Wednesday.
Doing SW pulled pork with soft rolls, coleslaw and apple sauce on Saturday as BFF, her hubby and his daughter are coming for the day. Will take the dogs and children on a looooong walk first though as it's predicted to be really mild.
Hope all are going well this month.

Just had a reality check - not been monitoring our grocery spends for the past few months and from last pay day (25th Nov) to today (as pay day is tomorrow) we have spent DOUBLE our allotted budget!!! no wonder I am so strapped recently *facepalm*
Hopefully you will all welcome me back! January GC starts tomorrow for me and will be a long one as due to pay day moving for Christmas it makes it a 5 week month! and on top of that unusually bf will be at home most of it.
I am on a new eating plan but mostly resourcing that from my 'fun' money as its a choice and I get a discount however I may stop if it's not financially feasible in a couple of months depending on how I get on.
I'll not clog up this thread too much just wanted to post to give myself an anchor and incentive really! See you all in the next GC!************************************

Evening all
I would like to join this challenge for January which for me starts Saturday.
I am aiming for 150.00 which includes cleaning products and toiletries for 2 adults and 50.00 for 3 cats which is a low fat prescription food.
Should be able to manage on this amount but will not beat myself up if I don't. I always buy my meat from the butchers and fruit/veg from local markets or greengrocers where possible.
GMATLost my way for far too long but now back on board to lead a more simplistic lifestyle
