Estate agent didn't tell me I wouldn't be able to rent the flat out I was buying.

    To throw in a bleedin obvious question;
    are you sure you (or your solicitor) are reading the lease corrctly in respect of the prohibition on sub-letting? I;ve owned four leasehold flats, and while each of their leases said there was no short-term sub letting allowed, the precise wording was along the lines of 'no sub letting less than a 6-month AST,...)

    in other words, no holiday lets or short term benefit/B&B type tenants.

    So make sure you have a problem before you walk away; as I said, my last 4 leases have been consistent on this point, and i've not experienced a lease condition like yours...?

    you'll see it's grammatically incorrect.

    It's all about context. If it's an advert for an "investment property", it doesn't mean some random bloke in the supermarket buying a tin of food for Fido.

    People probably take more care in selecting a can of dog food. They may well read the label before purchasing to ascertain it's contents.;)

    Expecting an agent to tell you anything more that how lovely the fireplace is, is a big mistake.

    Anyone can open an estate agent.

    I find an axe works well, but a chainsaw does give satisfaction. Messy, though.
