Get a quote from a local registered gas engineer and it'll come back much lower than £2,600.:footie: Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. Very true. MIL got 3 quotes to replace her boiler, but opted for British Gas (though they were the most expensive by hundreds of pounds) because she trusted them. Come installation day the "British Gas" engineer sent to do the work was ........ one of the independent installers who had given a lower quote. Not to mention the !!!! up BG made in ordering the wrong system (it would have been illegal) that left her without heating or hot water from the first week of December until late January. She is in her eighties, but just "got on with it". She learned the hard way that you don't necessarily get what you think you're paying for by choosing to go with a "big name" company.0
