So in actual fact the rent portion would be about 600 quid? That example just screams landlord desperation, and it will be interesting to see if it rents at that price.
Council Tax = Even if Band E for a studio flat its only £178.57 per month. It could be as low as £92.28 per month
Utilities = Max £100 per month (1 studio bed apartment)
TV licence = £147 (£12.25 per month)
WIFI = £14.17 per month http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/phones/cheap-broadband#plusnetbb
So all in it's probably £700 per month for a one bed studio apartment.
Back to the question you evaded:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.
Some men you just can't reach.

for the astute of you, you will see that rents in Scotland have plateaued in the last two years and have dipped at this point in each of the last three years.
Over the 6 year period this graph reflects, rents are still higher
Combination of low oil prices and uncertainty created by the SNP, I would say. Scotch economy likely to be in recession when next results published - it shrank last quarter.
Basket case of a place.
Crashy's right though - some desperate landlord is sure to offload a property to him at a 130% discount any day now (what was your BCR again Crashers?).0 -

500 p.m for a two bedder in Aberdeen now I hear?0 -
300p.m for a one bedder according to your link to the search function. Ouch! I bet they are actually going for cheaper than that though, wonder if Hamish will comment?0

Meanwhile, rents continue to rise:
Private rental prices paid by tenants in Great Britain rose by 1.8% in the 12 months to April 2017

:rotfl::rotfl: Keep em coming Hamish :T Classic comedy.
They are a bit late to be talking about rent caps, now though? Almost as if they WANT to totally collapse the BTL market.....0 -

Why the obsession with Aberdeen, you don't live there. Why don't you look at where you live, Edinburgh? Is it because rents are at record highs, and the facts show a different 'truth' to the one you want to portray?0 -

"The average rent of a one bedroom flat in the city is now £498 per month, down 13.2% from last year.
SNP housing spokeswoman Jackie Dunbar said that despite the fall, rent levels were still above most places in Scotland"
Unlike you the writer of the article seems to know that flats with private landlords can easily be had for well under 500 p.m in Edinburgh and Glasgow (and elsewhere) ? If you want to believe that the flats near Edinburgh Uni that turn up on your RMove searches are the actual market for ordinary people, then be my guest :rotfl: The comedy value is that one of the biggest bubble trolls on the internet got to experience the crash first hand on their own doorstep :T It is beyond parody :rotfl:0
