Have you actually checked the Asus website for a BIOS update? Is there one? If so what does it say about it?

When I have tried to install the bios from the Asus web site using their flash utility I get the error message
" sorry the programme only supports Asus notebook"

  • make and model of your asus device please? and the number of the bios flash that is installed ?

also can you explain "the Asus issues"

that statement might cover an awful lot of asus products
  • A clean ISO install is related to just the hard drive, and would not affect the bios in anyway. Unless your BIOS is not functioning correctly, or you need additional hardware support for a new type of processor (lots of Intel motherboards need to be flashed on the bios to allow new Haswell processors to be compatible), then there isn't really a need to upgrade the BIOS.

Just ensure your drivers are all up to date, as you will have lost them in the clean install.

  • Im still not clear as to why you want to upgrade your BIOS? What are the benefits to you as a user for doing this?

I don't if I don't have to, as I read somewhere about don't do it if its not needed.
But I thought I would ask on here and get peoples views
instead of something I read on the net.

According to the DM and the update tool all my drivers are up to date
    fingers crossed ;)

That's because you are missing the ASUS ATK/ACPI driver, you need to install that first.

That is the latest BIOS for your machine.

And no it won't help with Windows explorer, that will be another issue entirely.
