I used to hear the children talking to each other through the baby monitor when they shared a bedroom. I used to sneak upstairs and try to catch them awake and they would both be fast asleep so the only conclusion I could come to was they were talking to each other in their sleep :-) proper cute x

My mum once found me sleep washing the dishes

  • Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...
  • My d/s had night terrors for years and we took him to a sleep specialist who suggested lots of things but the thing that worked was not looking at "blue" light after a certain time, blue light is tv, phones, computer etc. This has worked extremely well and he occasionally only talks in his sleep. Try reading a book or listening to music before bedtime just to "chill" your brain. The specialist said that it was just a case of training your brain to sleep properly again.
  • I've never been a sleep talker but in the last couple of months it has started happening to me. I sit bolt upright in bed, shake my partner awake and start asking him urgent questions about absolute rubbish (Last week I started lifting my leg up and down in the bed pointing to it and saying "there's something wrong with my leg" and laughing - then I told him my leg was on offer at the garden centre this month! Last night, I sat up and started asking if he was putting worms in the bed) The weird thing is I am apparently completely lucid and if it wasn't complete nonsense he would think I am awake.
I started a new job (retail) in March, and about 2 months ago moved to a new store. Opening the new store has been very stressful. I guess I am feeling the increased responsibility of my job (I'm a deputy manager which I've never been before) and we are quite overworked/understaffed at the minute.
So I imagine it's down to stress, but I hope it settles down soon :-s

    That made me chuckle!
  • The OH's episodes are usually hilarious. It happens most, like the other posters, when the weather is warmer or he's got a bit of a temperature. There have only been two times when it's not been funny because he's flailed around and really clumped me one. He felt awful about those, but he's asleep, it's not as if he can do anything about it. Encouraging the Idiot Cat to not sleep on the bed (so he's no longer half expecting a furry moron to land on his face at any minute) also helps.

The added advantage of the latter is that Idiot Cat now thinks he's pulling a fast one if I'm in bed first and don't shut the door, so he's decidedly careful to not draw attention to himself. Woke up this morning to find him curled up in a little ball of cuteness right between our pillows - and OH hadn't even noticed him there, so had slept really soundly.

I occasionally talk, flap my arms around or sing in my sleep. That can be cute, apparently.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

I remember my Mum telling me thirty years ago that I talked in my sleep, she said it was like listening to one side of a telephone call as it was full of "mmmm" and "yes, then what" :rotfl:

I know that I still talk in my sleep, Marley tells me occasionally. He does the same when he's very warm, and I have great fun telling him all about it the next morning :rotfl:

My OH talks in his sleep, or if he gets up for the loo in the middle of the night and isn't fully 'with it' - its often work related so I've been ordered to display the latest figures (Very Carry On lol!), told something about a meeting, and asked to go into the yard and back the tanker up to name but a few.

I must admit I'm a bit of a grump when I'm woken up so don't always see the funny side of it at the time.
