Anyway, if an upgrade is important to you then pay for it: if not, then don't worry about it.
Are there any flights from UK to Sharm other than holiday flights ? If not, the best "upgrade" you will get is to pay extra to sit at the front or by the escape exit..
Other than that pay for a lounge at your UK departure airport - well worth it.
I always use:

they actually operate nearly all the lounges.
Although they do let kids in, most people use the lounges for a bit of peace and quiet, so hyperactive/noisy kids are not that welcome !0 -
BA flights from Gatwick operated by GB Airways to SSH offer Club class.
GB Airways sister company Cadogan Holidays offers packages.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -

A lounge pass is more likely to cost 20 pounds upwards. Remember that if you have an Egg card you can get it at a discount.
Is there anyway of paying for an upgrade with virgin from heathrow as myself mrs phatbear, whos 40th birthday it will be during this trip, and the 12year old little bear are off to new york next week?
all the best
the bearLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
phatbear,
Give Virgin a call, you can upgrade either prior to the departure date or on the day (subject to availability), but be warned ... it won't be cheap!Gone ... or have I?0 -

i am not 100% sure about virgin but normally if you have bought the cheapest economy ticket you won't be able to pay for an upgrade in advance ,but possibly on the day. the ticketing rules can be bizarre ...i couldn't believe one instance where a major international airline lost approx. £4k to fly 2 of us in different seats across to NY ...."we need to go and check all the rules again they said .....this is really stupid they said " ...but the bottom line was we couldn't give them the extra money for an upgrade without cancelling the original tickets ....suffice to say on the day they had spare seats up front, and no on the day we didn't want to pay to upgrade them even though they asked us nicely when we got to check in.0 -

Never been 'Club Class' myself, always had the cheap seats lol, so what benifits do you get going Club?:D0 -
it's dependant on whether you are doing a european trip or further afield.
within europe with ba the big plus personally is the baggage allowance...further afield i'd say the comfort onboard and removing a lot of the stress surrounding the airport situations ...check in , lounge and boarding ( i know this is similar with european flights but it's easier to put up with some hassle when you aren't flying for hours.)0 -
The flights for my honeymoon only have one class, so no upgrade for us - we are shelling out big time on hotels and flying el cheapo cos we're only going to Italy so it's not worth the extra money (also we are going to two places so different operators for each leg)
Can you perhaps surprise your new hubby in some other way? What about asking the hotels to put Champgane in your room, and fresh flowers? We've told our hotels we're on HM and hoping for some freebies! DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j
