Yes, they do the childcare vouchers, but looking at the info on the HMRC website, I might actually be worse off (it depends on your circumstances I think, because they interact/interfere with tax credits). But if I'm not going to get any tax credits anyway, then it may well save me some money, ta muchly. x"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

I can't see how you won't be getting any tax credits etc and I'm damn sure I earn more than you and OH more than yours and we still get minimum tax credits - it really doesn't make any sense at all. And it's completely unfair if it is right..CCCS DMP:Feb 07

Stu's on the phone to them now - it looks as though they have got our income wrong by about £8000 for the last tax year (How??? I have updated them of every change!!).
They're going to send us a new pack out, which hopefully wont say they have overpaid us, but basically we wont get anything after April (other than the basic £45 a month or whatever it is) because we earn too much (yeah, Stu with his just-over-minimum-wage job and me with my 16 hours a week - we're really raking it in....).
Starting to wonder if there's any point going back to work now. I wont get any help with childcare costs at all apparently.
I just don't understand it.HOW, i never said that? and he has been getting basic ema all that time so:mad: The upshot is that they will only backdate three months, and we owe them £660, i dont know how they have reached this figure, but i can symapthise with you as well. Have given up speaking on phone to them and now write letters. Wish i'd never bothered claiming them. Will be right down this year and thankfully i will be glad as i think i'd rather eat beans on toast all year!

Doesn't matter how much you update them, they always get it wrong. They say they will only backdate 3 months - but that's only if you haven't claimed in that time. If you have kept them informed and they've screwed up - then take them for mal-administration."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Snaggles my money is on them getting it wrong - when I gave up work it took them ages to understand that I'm not working now - 0 hours = 0 salary. They tried to stop ours too -lol! We're still paying back the overpayment from years ago and if you can work out; a) how much we were overpaid by and b) when it will be paid back you are a better person than me. However we have always been paid, my only advice is if things only change minimally I don't advise them until the end of the year - in my experience they can't handle too much info in anyone year :rotfl: :rotfl: ! Try not to let them upset you!

Also, give them a ring and ask about disability credits for Ryan, they can do it without DLA sometimes if you have a diagnosis certificate. No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

If Stu's on min wage then from the calculators you can earn about £9k until it gets confused and says no.No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

Thanks Gemmzie/Bob/Sea/Zed/IDA.
Stu's salary is above minimum wage now, but in his last job it was only just barely (it's still not exactly a huge salary now - maybe about £18k including overtime). I'm not sure what my salary is going to be - I think full time is £25k roughly, so possibly about £11k based on 16 hours - but we are waaaay under the upper earnings limit for tax credits, so.
I'll just have to wait and see what the new award notice says, but if we don't qualify for any help with childcare costs, I will want to know exactly why!
I asked them about Ryan's DLA claim and they said he would have to be in receipt of DLA before they would increase the tax credits. But someone on the Aspergers Support thread said when they rang, they increased it anyway, in advance of them getting a decision on DLA."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
With a joint income of £29K you would only get the family element of tax credits roughly £10 a week, you *might* get a little help with childcare depending on how much your expenses were.
If you are only entitled to the£10 a week, then you might as well look into vouchers instead.0
