I did see this program a while back which said that our bodies have a 'predetermined weight' at which it will always aim to be, no matter what diet etc you do. So say if your determined weight is what you are now and you're dieting, your body is going to be putting all the effort it can into staying that weight by storing fat and burning muscle instead etc.
No idea if there's any truth in it but it's a great excuse if it is! :rotfl:

There isn't. I ate what I was given when I lived with the XOH and I was 17 stone. On my own I am 15...

But I also think that your body is cleverer than you are, so eating low fat is a good way of putting on weight.

The bizarre thing is that while I was pregnant, I ate exactly what I wanted and didn't put any weight on (in fact I actually lost it).

Now I'm eating less, exercising more, and still struggling to lose weight.

I'm obviously doing something wrong, but I'm not quite sure what it is.

    Eat unprocessed stuff.

Don't eat because you're bored or unhappy.

Don't finish your food just because your Mother beat it into you from a very early age. If you're finished - stop.

I rarely eat processed food - we cook most things from scratch. Although would quorn be classed as processed? (Is that a silly question? :o)

I don't really eat out of boredom - I do eat if I'm miserable, but I'm not often really miserable.

I do have a tendancy to skip meals and then be hungrier than I should be later in the day though, so maybe that's why. I also don't sleep, and I've read recently that people who don't sleep 8 hours a night are more likely to struggle with their weight.

    Today I have eaten:

    cereals and milk
    some pineapple
toast (okay it had butter on it, but shhhhhhh ;))
    rice cakes and salsa
    chicken casserole
    lime jelly

Apart from the toast and butter, I think it's been fairly healthy. The lime jelly was sugar free because it's free on weightwatchers...lol....so goodness knows what chemicals that has in it though.
