Our finances are joint, but we each have our own accounts too. What we did was worked out how much in total we spent each month on bills, food, petrol, car savings (for tax/insurance/mot etc) - so say roughly £1200. Then we added up our income, which at the time was roughly £1400, with Stu earning £850 and me earning £550. So Stu would transfer £750 over to the joint accounts and I would transfer £450, leaving us both with £100 spending money. It worked quite well.
I didn't bother altering anything during my maternity leave - I just worked out what shortfall I would have each month (based on SMP), added it up for the whole year, and then we tried to save that amount. We didn't quite save enough, but things like Quidco, surveys, bingo etc have kept us afloat, so we SHOULD have enough left to get us through till April.
Once I'm back at work and I know how much me and Stu will be bringing in, I will re-do the budget, but until then we will just stumble blindly along, shuffling money whenever necessary!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
I kid you not, we had someone come into our building who's surname was spelt pisa and the first name was the name of just a cheese and tomato pizza without the a on the end... I tell you what, someones parents were having a giggle that day!! i managed to keep a straight face and then bent double when they walked away.... I tell you...
We once had a customer called Hugh Chisel. Not sure why that was so funny, but I got the giggles so badly I could hardly speak!
Jacs, are you okay hun - is Dan okay? (((hugs)))"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

Sounds very much like one of Ryan's little outbursts. It's hard sometimes because I want him to be a normal boy, and be allowed to do normal things like playing on the Playstation every now and again, but I know how he gets, so I just try to pick my times, and accept there may be a tantrum at the end of it.
Oh my goodness, I just gave Tasha a teddy bear biscuit, and she was sitting there nicely eating it, but somehow in the minute it has taken my to type this, she has covered herself in it from head to toe! :rotfl:"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

oh honey big hugs to you for such a rubbish start to the day, men hey. He maybe thought he was doing something that would be seen as positive by you, without realising he hadn't planned it throughand so got defensive when he realised his mistake?
I'm with you on the being woken up early thing. it's every single bl00dy morning here and is SOOO annoying!! grrrrr.... here's hoping for a calm and loving phonecall during the day and a nice evening for you tonight.

Pania - I'm really sorry, I just deleted my little rant because I thought it sounded silly and irrational - didn't mean to make it look like you had dreamt it.
Thanks for the reply though, and I think you are right, he probably did think he was doing something kind. I will try and make it up with him later.
He does wake me up every single morning though, which is sort of irritating - I once tried to ask him not to, and he said it's because he wants to give me a kiss goodbye, so then I felt really guilty. But my insomnia is terrible at the moment, so being woken up a full hour earlier than I need to be isn't ideal.
It's a minor detail though really - I'm just stroppy and hormonal today.
Thanks for your kind message xxx"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
