it depends on how posh you want to go.

a good place to start is here

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/cheap-restaurant-deals

also deal zippy - put your postcode in the box and you get a map of what deals are local - groupon and living social and don't forget to go via Topcashback

    http://www.dealzippy.co.uk/

but watch for restrictions like no Friday or Saturdays.

but its well worth signing up for all of the chains and looking out for the opening of new resturants close to you.

Our eldest reminded us at the weekend that for her 18th we went to an all you can eat Chinese locally - well at the time it was very posh to us, there was no chain eateries around here and our two lads could eat their own body weight :D

If there are a huge crowd of you it might be worth doing what we did once - we had a chef in to cook a posh meal in our own home - we brought the wine, he brought posh china, all the ingredients and did all of the cooking and clearing up - its was only about £10 per person at the time - probably about £20 to £30 now :(

if you sign up to Bella italia on their latest newsletter there is a buy one main get another for £1 so that might be about £12 for 2 mains - drinks are very expensive though.

if you have an All Bar One close to you then sign up to their list. On their latest email update
"Our special menu sampling evenings are on Wednesday 7th and Wednesday 14th October, and you and your friends can enjoy a two-course menu with a glass of Prosecco for just £10" .

Toby carvery is another good one to sign up for 2 courses for £6.50 - good for big family groups.

buy one get one free - nice menu

    its a start

Like mhoc says depends how much you want to spend and where you want to go but the Beefeater free steak is a good voucher as free steak meal with every meal from main menu, then get yourself a beefeater car and start saving points, club card points is an obvious one as at that age Hungry Horse is popular.
On the daily competition boards is a scratch comp for zizzi (never been ) I have copious 25% off vouchers for here and bella Italia had a game going I did a couple of days ago I won free bottle of prosecco with 2 main meals (also will not be using).

Reminds me somewhere amongst dads post we have shareholder discount vouchers for Manstons and Bar One chains. Must dig them out and use before the end of the year. Might have Whibreads as well but not sure.

Of course if you are spending hard cash make sure you know where you are going in advance and if possible buy gift vouchers to use from mr t for the points.

    Flea update:eek:

Our house has never been so clean. Everything is washed, twice washed and bleached/ scrubbed and triple hoovered.
    Found no signs of anything

Visited our local pharmacy and asked if I could have a discrete word in his consulting room.

I showed him my bits and he said it's definitely fleas. I bought some anti histamines and it's taken the edge of the itching. See what tomorrow brings:)

Sorry to hear about your cataracts aj. Hope you get a quick appointment.

Thank you. Was fine, but a lot of hanging about. Driver was early, no traffic so really early for appointment. Afterwards getting out of london was murder.

I really like driving through london and looking at houses and guessing how much they're worth. Don't know how anyone affords to live in London, or certainly the central parts.

Drove along a road called Avenue Road in NW8. Nice looking houses, I can imagine in other parts of the South they might be worth 1-2 million. Looked up on zoopla and right move and these houses were starting at 25 million.
    Total madness!
you've had such a long dreary day, omg the price of those houses  some people have more money than sense :)
