Why is the whole nation moaning about carrier bags? We do like something to moan about.

I think Peter Kay has the right idea :D

    Mine were unlined.

Well I say lined maybe I mean inside was coated I'm sure it was but I only looked in one of the small bags. Maybe my eyes were deceiving me though as I didn't have my glasses on.

Can't even check as I'm at dd1s now, I meant to bring her a few too but I forgot. :o
  • I'm just looking at those pics of chicken and trying not to laugh.

Hubby's dad had just had a stroke & passed over & we were on a flight to USA to go to the funeral. We hadn't had much sleep at all as trying to arrange everything with his sister. Got up early in the morning for flight from Cardiff to Baton Rouge via Amsterdam. The flight from Cardiff was delayed due to snow & Ice. We asked if we could get on the previous one as had funeral to attend & it wasn't full. They said NO but not to worry as ours would e at most 10mins late & they would make sure to hold the onward flight for us.

Got to Amsterdam, ran from one gate to another only for them to stop us getting on the flight, which was still at the gate. Explained everything & said we had to be in Baton Rouge within next day & previous KLM flight said they would hold because of delay & snow etc.. Rude, rude staff wouldn't budge. We had funeral clothes in carry-on so weren't worried about luggage not being there.

Had to go to another desk & phone SIL to say we wouldn't be on flight she was meeting us on & try to arrange another flight. Was told it would be 48hrs before we could get to Baton Rouge. Horrid lady suggested we ask SIL to rearrange funeral & we should have booked earlier - YEAH!! Hubby stressed out to nth degree, me in tears.

After hrs & hrs at the airport they decided they'd put us up in Amsterdam & get us on a flight to somewhere in US in the morning.

Got to hotel, shattered, went for a meal & then got back to room. I flicked through TV channels, as you do, to get weather forecast as snow everywhere, canals frozen over, but there was nothing in English on TV. Hear a few words in English on 1 channel so stopped there and asked hubby 'what the hell were they stuffing the turkey with?'

Hubby looked at me in astonishment & said 'What did you just say?' Just then the TV went off - apparently you only get a few seconds of 'certain channels'.

There apparently was some stuffing going on BUT it wasn't a Turkey.!:o:o:eek: He's NEVER let me forget that! I'm SO naive sometimes & never dreamed I had the X rated channels on. I still thought it looked like a Turkey!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

The free steak voucher is valid when one main meal is ordered and the 1000 points can't be combined with any other offer so I'll take DD1 and we'll get:

    Bill 1
2 free starters using reward points (one for me and one for the mrs)
    Free steak using MOC
Main meal (prob something like fish and chips) for DD1 but I'll not let her eat it all because it's from the adult menu
2 free desserts using reward points (one for DD1 and one for me and the wife to share since we had starters)

    Bill 2
    Main meal from steak/grill menu

The only things we'll have to pay for are the main meals from Bill 1 and Bill 2 and drinks but we'll get points back on both bills (including 1000 bonus points on Bill 2)

Isn't the free steak voucher only valid when second person buys a main meal?
Sure you have it sussed but sure that's how it normally works.

I have the 1000 points as well but think mine is just with any purchase.

Luckily for me mum mum frequently goes to family gatherings for 20 plus people and uses my points card (rest of step dad's family wouldn't dream of collecting points). :j

    Evening all

Friend had me rolling around in laughter by putting a tesco plastic bag on Fb for 2p.
    So simple but so funny.

Didn't manage to get out for a pamper and get boots orders today as throat playing up again. Plus weather so nasty and dark from fog most of day.

My Shaws bags have arrived. Not opened box but owe 3 to N as she bought me 3 x 2p bags in asda on Friday. They had changed the labels to up the price for Monday but our nice SA told us. Why not leave at low
We price until close of business Sunday and sell as many as possible alerting customers to the policy change.
Hoping my Shaws bags can be re purposed for packing up house first the will be relegated to groceries.
I ot a stain on my JL penguin bag but try to leave the house or car with a body shop bag over my shoulder. At least reminds me to go back to car to collect rest of bags before shopping.

Determined to clear more of art room tomorrow and get out to post office. After that I ve several magazines to be read now goodies have been removed.

Hope everyone is ok and acclimatising to the band weather.

Oh, forgot to say, no miracle cream in Aldi today. I asked for it and was told that it all went in less than 5 minutes yesterday!

Would have been nicer if they honestly told you that you don't need it..

Dd favourite thing at the moment is nivea BB cream. Used it a could of time when at hers and is really nice.
Anyone got the article where they compare the Aldi face cream to others.

Hope you are better soon. I'm totally out of the loop with things. We shall have to be passing cruise ships with diamant! steps in the night.

We have had strange weather tonight. Windy but that sort of balmy warm wind you only usually get on hot places in the continent. My trusty barometer says its 16 degrees  Am loving an October where the heating hasn't been on yet :D or the tumble drier.

You take care and I'm always on the end of an email if I'm not here ;)

E.....a last minute holiday how exciting :D

TM if you are getting bitten you may have an infestation in your house. I've had one and it's not pleasant :o I purchased 2 cans of something I don't remember the name of from the vet. it was £13 a can  but worth it to stop fleas landing in DS2 porridge at the time  :o It took 2 cans to do the whole house. They can live dormant for years under floorboards, skirting boards etc. I was also experiencing bites.
You have to spray and go out for the day though as it absolutely stinks!

Yes. Made it last Sunday. Turned out well. Wrapped & hidden from OH. I also made a tester. This I told him not to touch until I had matured & fed it. Went to feed it with brandy today and it was half gone. Was not happy (but I suppose I have saved the brandy!)

Sounds like my DH at work with the cake  I used to make a mincemeat cake, not sure if I've still got recipe but it takes relish, moist and do spent last long ;)

Problems sleeping with this bloody coughing  ribs are sore and now I've strained something in my abdomen  hair is soaked and I'm running a temperature.
Will be ringing doc in the morning 8am as I have an awful feeling I've got either a bad chest infection or heaven forbid pnuemonia again :(
There's no place like home :)

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.
