Quick bit of advice needed. My Mum is doing ok but now we have a problem with Mother In Law. She has a bad heart and spent a 6 week spell in hospital in May and was then allowed home. She wasnt eating in hospital and only recently started eating again. However last week she had trouble breathing and even though she didnt want to go was admitted to hospital. She has 2 care visits a day at present but needs a visit from the ot regarding things at home to help i.e. a commode and some rails to help her get on and off the loo. My father in law is not very well himself and has been finding it a strain looking after her.
My husband is officially her carer and does there shopping and goes in 6 days a week. My husband and his brother have done power of attorney ( not enacted yet ) and now my brother in law is talking about getting it enacted so they can put her into care. Him and my husband went to look at the care home that is 1/2 mile from her home and they have a vacancy. The hospital is desperate to discharge her but she needs 4 care visits and things put in place at home. Now today my husband called me and apparently his brother and family are talking about putting his mother in a care home near where they live ( 25 miles away )so that my husband would have to drive there to take his dad to visit.
OH is quite upset as he feels his brother is going too fast with all of this when with help she could come home. I know also my mother in law wants to stay at home and has also signed a dnr. My brother and sister in law visit about twice a week and they regularly call the ambulance when all she needs is a day in bed.
I am trying not to get too involved but my husband is struggling with all of this and feels his brother and family are pressuring his Mum and Dad
If Mil needs 4 care visits a day to return home it is up to social services to arrange - they will generally do this fairly quickly to avoid paying a 'delayed discharge charge' which NHS charge councils for.

Unless OH's folks have enough money to 'self fund' residential care it will be 'better value' ie cheaper for the local authority to fund 4 visits a day rather than pay for res care.
If MIL has capacity she can rescind POA and also if it is not in place and shared the decision can't be up to brother.

If OH mum/dad don't have the mental capacity to make the decisions themselves, then best course may be to seek a Best Interest Assessment, via social services.

I'm not bothering with Chicago Town Deep Dish pizzas, which are £1 in M, as they are 'too cheap' priced in A (£1.25) so seems little point (and they're only 320g when pizzas of 400g+ can sometimes be got for £1) - also I had full price SELs still showing in the aisles of my M stores. So, that's it for the M list (which I returned to about 20 minutes ago - a few new entries on there just now).

I just have a few items to check "More" points on, to see if much cheaper elsewhere (they will not be going onto the M list though, as that does not deal with M vs elsewhere) - if I come up with anything (very unlikely) I'll post them soon.

All I can see (not literally!) so far is Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5 Blades (4 pack) M £8.49 vs A £5.98 with £1 "More" points = £4.98. (Or, actually, it equals £8.49 with the hope that you might, eventually, get something in a voucher form that still has to be spent with M so always keeps that money with them!)

But that's hardly any good - £4.98, as branded blades are so expensive! It's the "old game" perhaps - sell the razors at such and such cost and then you're locked in to buying the refills, the blades, and paying good money for them.

[EDIT: Addition: Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5 Groomer Blades (4) M £9.99 and £1 "More" points vs A £6.98:(.]

Yeah, M list is completed - there's nothing else I have to put there (I don't think I bother with Ricola Drops these days). Bear in mind that "Buy in M" might also include all that is listed under Tvs M (that is branded stuff and the equivalent M own-label products for M).

Alright, I know it's still 'early' - that's enough for me for tonight!:)

Udis worked as usual on a 5pm CC order. The Douwe Egberts coffee is a bit odd though - on my order (and on my collection note) they appeared as 5 x £6.58 = £32.90 but on the APG comparison they appeared as £30 in A v £20 in T. So I don't know what happened to the missing £2.90 - they are certainly only £6 each instore cos I bought one jar this morning to check that it was comparing.

any news of offers in Iceland is always greatly appreciated :T

There are also the Birds Eye Veg. Fingers 10 packs which are now on offer at 2 for £1.50 in M, but which are of course still on 2 for £1.50 in Iceland (seems to be regularly that price). And I also noticed the Aunt Bessie's Apple Crumbles, Bramley Apple Pie, Winter Fruit Crumble and Jam Roly Poly are on 2 for £2 (usual £1 each pricing, having to buy two though, rather than anything better) - though that will just have you buying tempting items that you would never have bought and spending more than you would have done without this post:(. Just ignore this post - pretend you never saw it:D. (I was trying to look for whether somewhere was cheaper than Morries, which has a "More" offer on some of them, but only found Iceland:(. So, no good buying in M at the moment it seems.)
