Looking at car hire for Portugal in 2 weeks. A bit of a minefield with so many options for fuel. You either get it full and take it back full ( slightly more money) or pre purchase where they charge you for the fuel when you pick it up and you just use what you want ( doesnt say how much they charge for the fuel ) or 1/2 to 1/2 where it comes 1/2 full and you give it back 1/2 full ( you could easily get conned )
The pre purchase ones are about 132.00. the full to full 156.00 and the 1/2 to 1/2 140.00.
Also does anyone know of a good company to take a policy to cover the excess of £2500.00 as the hire people want 43.76 for the week?
I do an annual worldwide one from Protect your bubble via quidco. Paid about £50 last year. The hire co put a $/e block on cc for about £600 but is released when you take the care back unscathed. Used carhire4less before as well. Had no problems.0 -
well there is an odd turn up for the books, eldest child is coming home for the weekend in October - she only came to see us a few weeks ago.
BF is having a male bonding weekend with his mates so being temporarily homeless she is coming up to see us instead - a think the penny is finally dropping that weekend train fares are very cheap and what she would spend on train fares is so much less than what she would spend on an average London weekend, wining, dining and traipsing about
and its far simpler for her to jump on the train after work on Friday then for us to go in her direction.
Not sure how we are going to entertain her this time - I think we over did it last time, trip to Wrexham with a fish and chip lunch and clothes shopping ( failed attempt to get to Chrk castle, roads being blocked) day trip to Llandudno and on the Sunday a trip to Dunham Massey to see the deer followed by roast pork dinner - how do we top that?
day 5 and the builder is still here and now the monsoon has started yet again“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

On T.com & mys I still have the simple moisturisers as showing at £1.99 (although I though the offer finished 14.9) maybe it rolled over, so dove mens trigger & 2 simple should still work I think.0

Definitely avoid Firefly and Goldcar, they are cheap for a reason! I would do the full to full petrol, i have been charged €100 more for a tank of fuel on a tiny car.
I've used icarhireexcess (or something like that) I've had to claim off them in the past and all worked well and got my money back....
Hope that helps0 -
I think it was on the dark side yesterday, needless to say I cant see it this morning but someone is bound to have a non referral link that wont offend red fox there is an offer on Fayre Square pubs - £10 for 2 adult main meals and 2 childs meals (ie like the normal 2 adult meals for £10 plus 2 free child meals)
I think its through voucher cloud??? and you get a page to show on your phone???
Anyway this morning I remember that you can buy giftcards, physical ones I think from Topcashback with 5% cashback including ones for Fayre Square, Wacky warehouse, Chef and Brewer, Starbucks, H Samuels - you need £20 worth but I think you can mix them up
http://giftcards.topcashback.co.uk/
not sure how the starbucks one works, if you can add the credit to the app on your phone
OK 5% cashback is not going to set your world on fire but all the little bits add up - I get the OHs works scheme giftcards for Morrisons, ikea, b and Q, etc, just 5%, 7.5% etc at a time and over the last year evne though I am not a big spender any more its saved about £150, well worth the effort of ordering and using them“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0
