  • Hi

Long time lurker, 1st time poster!

Just a quick thanks to Locarr for the heads up on the nappies at Morrisons. The size 4 Simply Dry (37 pack) were labelled up as £2.98, but scanned at £1.98. I also used some £1 off coupons that Pampers had sent me. I may have bought a few...

Thankyou for all your good wishes.

Think I messed up my first day. Lovely job and I really enjoyed it but was struggling to shake a headache off. Then I started feeling really sick and shaky & my oh had to come and pick me up 1hour and 30 mins early. I have been bitten at weekend and have a big egg sized swelling on my leg and as I'm rarely ill I'm wondering wether that's what's made me poorly. Spoke with 111 and they said to get GP appointment which I have. Feeling tons better just now though. Not a great start but I think they did know it was genuine. Hope I havnt jepordised my dream job :( xx
Cherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.

afternoon all - hope everyone got through the weekend nicely.

day 4 and the builder is still here. yesterday was not too bad as its was gloriously sunny and I could escape into the garden, plant bulbs, do some trimming back, lawn cutting etc ...

today its grey and dull and miserable

our builder is marginally OCD - everything has to be preciously perfect. we knew the plaster was probably coming off at least 2 of the walls as it was not put on correctly in the first place. Builder did not like the look of any of it so he has stripped all walls back to breeze block and skimmed and re plastered.

so we thought that by yesterday he would be at the floor tiling stage and then maybe the wall tiles as well.

but he has decided the floor slopes towards the window by 22mm so he has taken all of the floor up - fortunately just basic chipboard (I was pregnant at the time it was put in so none of this is my fault)
He has been to the timber merchant and come back with a mass of floor timber and he is now rebuilding the floor. OH is helping so at least it will get done faster.

when the floor tiles do go down there might be a one inch lip by the door, a trip hazard in the middle of the night esp if we have visitors, at least until the bedroom floor is put in, which will probably involve a complete wall re paint so another 4 day job unless he again does not like the wall plaster which is very dodgy under the window or he does not like the floor angle ...

they want me to choose bathroom accessories although I could not care less about loo roll holders etc - aghast at how expensive these things are. I've also got to choose a bathroom door and get some bathroom white paint - although I still don't know what was wrong with the previous door.

as you can tell I am beyond fed up - I think 2 days is my limit but there are no 2 days jobs in this house, everything take a week and involves making a mess in every single room.

This morning I was at the running away stage, I'd written my list of things I can do in my fav city and I was quite willing to go up on the train on my own on Friday but my fav hotels are booked or over priced over the weekend so that plan failed. Another hotel we stayed at last year finally has 2 days but these are Tuesday and Wednesday and it wont be finished by then. And running away wont actually solve the problem because the mess and chaos will still be here when I get back ..

I know it will all be worth is when its finished but in the meantime its like 7 circles of hell

Just been cheering mum up, as she is understandably very weepy.
I think I managed it as she left here with a smile. When she used to get cross and stroppy, D used to call her Sparky, and say 'watch out Sparky is out of the box'. Well I encouraged Sparky today:rotfl:

    My mystery box arrived today:beer:
    4 x Monopole Blue Top
    1 x Bella Cucina Prosecco
    1 x Dino prosecco
    1 x Elyssia Freixenet
    1 x Cesarini Sforza
    1 x Cordoniu Brut
    1 x Asti
    1 x Moet + Chandon Rose Imperial Champers :D:j
    1 x Lanson Black label Champers :D:j
Quite happy with that lot. Mil can have the sweet Asti, cos she loves it.
So sorry others are not happy with theirs.

Lovely roast pork dinner cooked by DS1 last evening. He was so proud to serve his home grown carrots, runner beans etc.

Glad to see LS is going home.:T:D

Just caught up. Off to make a couple of apple cakes now.

Ah, nearly forgot, a cruise pic as VT hasn't posted any more that I have found, and she's been away visiting.

  • Checked both .coms and it looks like the following are starters with Mint Aero trigger:-
    Wispa
    Mint Mentos
    Twirl
    Bueno
Polo (are they really usually 60p? I remember the day.............)
    Maltesers
    TicTac Strawberry
Trebor ES Mints (54p so lower return, rest 60p, Bueno 59p)

    ChelseaFred:)

Looking forward to getting a few on Monday:D

Well, I did the test shops but messed it up! I think I must have got the wrong Aero (I got the Mint 36g) and it didn't trigger, although it didn't appear on the APG comparison either.
I think my first two shops must have got mixed on the checkout belt too as the first had three of the relevant items as well as the Aero. This triggered the 3for£1 and ironically this was the only receipt I checked out of the 7 shops that I did. (oddly the sweets on this APG comparison were at 32 & 34p each).None of the others triggered the multibuy so I lost out both ways.
Will just have to bite the bullet this time, another rookie mistake!
My A had a poor selection of this range so presumably the correct Peppermint Aero is not stocked there.
At least I can eat my mistakes!;)

    ChelseaFred:)

For what it is worth, here are a few of my shops, at least the Simple worked (Blue Dove trigger) as did the other sweets (Caramel Freddo trigger) so I got about £4.40 APG at least on each.

no, it (aero - oos - visible trigger) started on Friday, so should be good until Thursday
the quoted shop was from 9th - just to confirm aero had been in the sweets multi before it went oos
not sure what you want to test but don't buy more than 2 aeros

Thanks yra, I saw your post and went ahead with the tests as you will see above.

In the early hours of Saturday I compared the items on offer at T (76 of them) with the 18 of A's. I made a list and was just checking to see if any others compared, rather than just the Maltesers and Twirl that most peeps were getting.

As you can see I wasn't very successful but with the right trigger I think most of the list should work?
