    ignore PE's bullc££p
Letter to court informing them of the inadvertant error and ask for the correct timesheet to be added to your defence .
    Copy to PE

I would also write to PE informing them you had every right to park there , have provided them with the necessary evidence and if they don't now cancel the claim but persist in taking the matter to court in the full knowledge of this you will be applying for your costs on the grounds of their unreasonable behaviour . Keep a copy of that letter and include it in your court bundle if they press on to a hearing .

Unlike certain posters on this thread I think your best defence is the simple fact you were fully entitled to park there but you may have simply forgotten to input your VRN , which if that is the case it was an error that caused no loss.
Don't over embellish your defence with legal points that may detract from it

If you would like a little help PM me .
I'd like to see your defence and their reply

    One thing
If you had to enter your VRN to enable you to park then presumably PE had your VRN From previous/ subsequent days ? Why then did they issue a ticket to that VRN even if you didn't enter it ? Perhaps they need to add another check to their foolproof system if that is the case .
If the case is as simple as described isn't it just another example of a totally automated system with little or no human input and the request and release of RK data with potentially no reasonable cause to do so ?

But of course using humans would push their costs up which is interesting because they claim enforcement in the private sector is more expensive than in the statutory sector who do employ humans . Oops

And as for how profitable their business is their accounts seem late this year !.
    IIRC 2012 , 30% profit margin
2013 , 10% profit margin , released in March 2014 , coincidentally just in time for the first hearing of Beavis.
What are the odds the 2014 accounts will appear just after the SC judgment ? Will be interesting to see the profit margin when they do .
    Sorry gone off piste

Well, finally an update and an end to this whole ridiculous debacle.

To keep this brief Parking Eye pulled out at the last minute before the Court date. They clearly have decided that as it was a genuine case and a minor error of me not inputting the reg number they have thought better about taking this through the Court, why they took it this far based on the details of the case was pathetic.

However, I have to say that their unprofessionalism is astounding, they never let me know they were dropping the case and if it weren't for me ringing the Court I would have turned up on the day. This clearly demonstrates what an outfit they really are!

After this what was a total waste of my time and money including their own, my advice is if you feel you have a genuine case don't back down.

I have got to add to this post my massive gratitude to Salmosalaris who has helped me unbelievably and his knowledge is superior. If it weren't for him I certainly feel the outcome could have been much different and I can't thank him enough for the time and effort he has afforded to me.
