A&L Mastercard charges after 0% period

Options
I hope somebody can explain or share similar experiences.
I have A&L Mastercard and since February was on 0% purchases as "Valued" customer. So last month paid balance in full + they took usual DD monthly payment. Got statement today with £22.39 added for Interest charges.
Called to ask why and was told that you have to pay in full for 2 consecutive month in a row otherwise interest is still charged. I asked where it states in T&C - she said it is definitely there but she is not able to find it at the moment. But usual morale of the story - read small print.
I am very sure it never happened to me with other CC but I have paid most of my bills in full all my adult life so never had a chance to notice it.
I would be grateful if someone can confirm that it is been "the rule"' since day go and I should read T&C next time. Or stick to paying balances in full and ignore 0% on purchases when they offer it to me next February.
Do other CC companies do that? If not - I might be looking to change...

Thanks for your help.

    See condition 2d...
...<snip>...We will not charge interest on the card purchases shown on your statement if you pay off the whole balance shown on that statement, and on the statement before, by the date the payment is due. Otherwise, we will charge interest on all transactions...and interest starting on the transaction date and ending on the date you pay the bill in full. We work out interest each day, so the earlier you make a payment, the less interest you will have to pay.
Looks like you missed the 0% end date. On MBNA runs cards, it normally coincides with your statement date - NOT the payment due date.

Certainley looks as if you've missed the end of your 0% period and have therefore been charged for it.
When going for deals like this it is NOT the payment due date you should be looking at when the deal is near it's end, but the end of the introductory offer date. Rarely do the two coincide !
It's standard practice with most, if not all of these deals. Don't let it put you off from further deals, just be a little more careful now you're wiser !
