Check out john Lewis for the same laptopSpending my time reading how to fix PC's,instead of looking at Facebook.0

if you'd waited more than 45 minutes for an answer, it would be working by now.
i7 12gb is likely to be an expensive over specification for non technically minded users of office. It's probably been factory restored, and put back on sale by now, with no 'serious fault within windows'.Don't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0 -

If two supposed technical people at PC World couldn't fix it I felt there was no hope for me. I am not saying PC World is great - far from it, but they dealt with me fairly and at least I returned it in time to get a full refund. With respect, you have no idea what I may need the laptop for in the future and my reasons for choosing the spec I did! I am happy with my choice - just not that it failed to work. Hopefully, when I am able to buy the replacement I will have no such issues.0 -
I suspect that the issue you had was with your broadband connectivity rather than with IE. Could you still connect to the internet when IE was down: for example, did your email program still function?
Maybe a wi-fi or router issue?
By refusing to try another browser as advised, it's impossible to be sure. You'll get much better tech support on here than from the cowboys at PCW, by the way. A 'serious Windows' fault' would be fixed in less than 30 mins with a factory restore.
As above, you appear to have been sold a wildly overspecced system for what you actually need. 12GB RAM?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Nobody had a chance to help you, help and advice was, and continues to be, brushed aside.
You're right, I have no idea why you chose that spec, but I can have an educated guess.Don't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0 -

12GB is also a stupid amount of RAM as it won't be dual channel either, waste.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0
