Hi All
Determined - How did it go today?
FVD - Great news about your offer & the house! Everything crossed for you.
Jono - Just done similar with the meat stretching. Had cooked 500g mince yesterday for 1 portion of spag bol for my son. Tonight I've made it into another 4 portion shepards pie for us, adding lentils, chorizo, onions, & green beans to the mix, plus done another 1 portion shepards pie for son who is going through a very funny stage about eating veg! The pack cost was only £1.90 so Im pleased with that.
CCL - Hope your day wasnt too insane...
LegoMum - I know Eat Well for less was terrible last week. The woman was a nightmare. Wouldnt grate cheese as it took too long??
ChocolateLover - Did you find your engagement ring? My husband lost his wedding ring, and it turned out to be inside the duvet cover. Goodness knows how. He had it resized very quickly after that.
What is your blog about?
JoJo - I'd say you deserved a treat after your hard work to get debt free
Ally - How lovely that the church sent you that food parcel. People do care dont they.
Twiggy - On the mash front. Was it particularly thick in the first place? If it was just a little bit, over time the consistency will change. How had you stored it out of interest? Im with you. If someone smells ok, & looks ok generally, then I'd eat it.
BB - Nice freebies today! Very useful.
Well today hasnt been too bad. Although just as I was putting our dinner in the oven, my husband rang to say his bike had been stolen from the station. We are so gutted. It cost us £400 via a company bike loan scheme, he's only had it 3 weeks, & it is just such a blow.
I checked our insurance, looks like the wording suggests we are covered for bikes up to £500, BUT there is a £150 excess, & quite frankly Im worried about what a claim would do to our premiums. So we'll need to discuss that when he eventually gets in. I could cry for him really. We never get anything new, & he was really happy with the bike. You just wonder how these thieves sleep at night. He said, that there were literally no bikes at the rack tonight, which indicates some scum bag has come along with a van & probably rounded up the lot.
He checked if any CCTV at the station, & the staff were less than helpful. Oh well worse things can and do happen.
See you all tommorow.

oh Bob that's awful! Poor Mr Bob. Honestly I feel your pain, I would be devastated. Hope you are able to catch them and make a claim without it causing too much pain.
Interview went really well. I was nervous, but think I represented myself well. A lot of the questions were along the lines I had thought they would be, so had answers already prepared for them. There was one question where they asked me what I knew about something, and I knew nothing! So I was honest and said I was sorry but I wasn't aware of the task force. Hopefully it won't be held against me as I did give lots of info about other agencies.
But I haven't heard anythingwhich isn't a good sign. This comapany generally let you know either way by phone call the same day.... Fingers crossed! Baileys Babe what a bootie you got there :j very nice!
FVD OMG how amazing! Fingers crossed the house sale/purchase is smooth running now for you xDF as at 30/12/16

Hi everyone, Please can I join this thread again?
I used to post on here daily but I have not been on for a while now. I feel that I need to get my DFW focus back again, as I have just started uni this week and today I have been laid off from my p.t job, so I need to try and save/make money where I can, as I don't even get student finance. I’m not seeing getting laid off as a completely negative thing as it will enable me to focus on the career that I want (although I will need to try and make/save money where I can for now). Sorry about all my rambling.
DNMS – Thank you very much for starting the thread, hope the interview went well.
Today has been mainly spent at uni followed by a slight panic over p.t job. My list for tonight is:
Do 2 loads of washing *done*
Dinner from stores *done*
Check banking *done*
Make a start on Christmas list *in progress*
Read Martins email
Do homework for tomorrow *done*
Try and login one poll – can’t remember my details *done*
Sort packed lunches for tomorrow *done*
Check lucky phone (try and remember what I need to do as not done this for weeks) *done*
Check FPL *done*
Delete 50 emails from inbox *done*
Look into reviving p!necone account *in progress*
Do some prep on setting up business *in progress*
Check Mr A receipt (I keep forgetting to do this) *done*
I think this should be enough to keep me busy tonight0 -
Oh bob what a blow, hope they find the evil scumbags who did it. You have reminded me that I need to check house insurance to see how much fishing tackle we are covered for as DS has heard about people having theirs stolen.
Waiting for DS to finish footie. Did some baking this aft, filled in my spending diary, big potato bake with a few sausages for tea. Washing on line, until next door lit a bonfire!
Keeping fingers crosseddnm. Being honest and saying I didn't know something at the interview helped me get my current job. They liked my honesty.
Right , better go, don't want to go over my mobile data allowance!0 -

I think on balance people are good, though you may be feeling different after the bike theft! That's terrible, poor Bob's husband. When we lived in Cambridge we had very cheap and decrepid bikes in the hope that no-one would want to take them; really hard to ride though and probably useless for cycling in the built-up areas you encounter!

The waiting is awful isn't it? But you know what? From my experience this month compared to same time last year I think employers are taking longer to say 'yes' or 'no' these days. I was waiting a week after one interview having been told I'd hear the next day. Turns out the recruitment consultant has gone to Belgium for a few days without clearing her in-tray. I'm still waiting! So, fingers-crossed. Perhaps they'll call tomorrow. You deserve a good job. I'm sure the good news is just around the corner.
