A few hours in the NHM/Science Museum in Kensington, walk down Exhibition Road to Hyde Park and let the kids stop off at the Diana memorial fountain and a playground and stroll down through Green Park/St James Park past Buck Palace to Westminster. Cross over the bridge and onto the Southbank. It a long walk, but we've done it a couple of times with a similar aged child.
Just around the corner from the British Museum is Coram Fields - a great playground for the kids.0 -

The tube line between Victoria and Westminster is the District Line which is green."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -
Hi everyone must an update on our day out yesterday!
We arrived at 9:40 and stepped out of the bus station in to chaos! Or so it seemed to us!
We had a walk to the palace which was nice, then walked down the mall to Trafalgar sq. I was v disappointed to see that there were no pigeons to feed as that was a great memory from when I was a kid and my girls were looking forward to it!
Then on to m and m's world and bubba gumps shrimp co. Both of which were great.
I wasn't very happy with all the pushy sales people in m and m's world though, we couldn't walk 10 feet before someone asked if we needed any help/do you need a bag etc.
Bubba gumps was brilliant based on the film Forrest Gump there was lots of memorabilia on the walls/American style booths/ an amazing menu.
Then we walked to hamleys which as I was expecting was also chaos! Kids screaming/crying/ running around/people doing demonstrations. And I think the heating must have been on full whack as we were literally dripping!
It was definitely an experience though and I'm glad we got to see it.
Then back the way we came to Big Ben and the river.
Unfortunately we went when there was a huuuuuuuge protest on about refugees/racism and probably anything else they could think of to protest about!!
Just seemed like a load of hippies getting drunk and banging their drums while dancing around!!
We got the coach back at 6:30
The coach was really nice with black leather seats etc. on the way there was only a few single seats spread around the coach so unfortunately my 9 year old sat at the back on her own my husband and 6 year on on either side of the aisle but next to each other and I was at the front.
I think there would be a seat reserving system in place as there was the last family getting on after Us Who had two parents and a toddler and they also had to sit seats apart! Not very practical!
We would definitely go again and may be stay the night, thanks for all you tipsADVISE-"I advise you get help"

The weather was lovely yesterday wasn't it?
I think it's a shame you couldn't sit together. Did no-one offer to swap seats, perhaps adults or those with older kids, or was it all parents and young kids?0 -
It was mostly single adults and no no one offered to give up their seat!
And yes we were very lucky as it was drizzling the whole way there!ADVISE-"I advise you get help"
