how many sickies are you allowed?

Why don't you google Bradford Factor - this seems commonly used.
My last place displayed actual attendance statistics on the board along with your sales figures so there was no going unseen if you were a poor attender.0 -

If they gave names and mentioned sickness absence this could be considered breaching normal boundaries of confidentiality in the employment relationship.
Or did they just refer to percentage attendance which could vary from month to month with holidays as well as sickness and be used in conjunction with the sales figures to look at ranking in terms of sales/day attended.0 -

I think it depends on the company. My last job counted the actual number of times you were absent. So taking a whole week off counted as just one absence but if you called in sick 3 individual days that would be counted as 3 times.
Probably depends what you say you issue is. I have just had a whole month off but it was for an operation. If you keep calling in for random headaches and upset tummy it will look suspicious.0 -
3 single days off in 11 years. and those days I was so ill I couldn't physically get out of bed. Im lucky that I don't get ill often, other than the odd sniffle, bugs seem to pass me by without affecting me.
And there is never any question about throwing a sickie because I don't want to go into work, its just something I don't do, and despise people who do. it lets other people down, shows irresponsibility and adds pressure onto others. There can be days where I would prefer to stay in bed, but after knocking my alarm on to snooze once or twice, I can always convince myself that I need to get up.Mortgage = [STRIKE]£113,495 (May 2009)[/STRIKE] £67462.74 Jun 20190 -
You are confusing "sickie" (pretending to be ill) with genuine sick leave (when you actually are ill). Some employers allow a set number of "duvet days" for people like you who can't be bothered to get up.
If everyone did as you do, the country would grind to a halt.0
