Vodafone end of contract bartering
I am currently on Vodafone online 100 contract, 100 xnet mins a month and 50 texts per month. Having seen what 3 were offering, (250 mis 50 texts - new phone) I rang with 6 weeks to go on my 18 month contract, having been with them for 4 years and asked is they could match it.
They came back with the following offer - 225 mins and 100 texts for £12.50 for 9 months and then 3 months at £25. (12 month contract this time) This seems like quite a good deal, however I forgot to ask about a handset upgrade. Called back and asked if they could include a K800i, new or even reconditioned and they said no, I would have to pay £50.
If I leave it a while, are Vodafone likely to be able to offer me the phone as well or am I asking too much. I know my contract currently isn't much, but I thought the idea was about retaining customers...

Yes they want to retain you as a customer but they're are not desperate like 3.
Look at it this way, a k800i is valued at £250 brand new and £200 (u might get it cheaper but this is how VF price them.)
Your deal = £12.50 x 9 = £112.5 and £25 x 3 = £75
altogether £187.5 so therefore the business makes a substancial loss without the £50 charge.
what u were originally offered was what they call a non hardware deal, hence the huge discount.0 -
ok again go to phones4u ....hehehehe
get a 40 quid tariff with 100 quid cashback ....k810i which voda wud ask u for around 129 ....and after the month revert back to the tariff they have offer the 225 100 txt which wud be 18 month however 25 quid .....
with the cashback of 100 the cost of the tariff comes down to 19 quid for 18 months and you get a much better phone ....0
