I know I won't be buying "UGG Australia" if they're made in China of cow skin and have the wool sewn in as a lining. I want the real single style sheep skin. Better off paying for better quality.
Cow skinThey are sheepskin, not sure where you have read about ugg australia but I have been wearing them for years, they last well and they are a lot better quality than some other brands, I have had boots from OZ, they made my feet sweat and the soles didnt fare to well either. Fakes may well be cow skin with wool lining sewn in but genuine ones are twin faced sheepskin. HTH

If you want slippers you could try the celtic or just sheepskin brands. TBH though I got my dad sheepskin slippers from M&S last xmas and they were lovely, think they were about £35 from their luxury range you can get slippers in quite a few places.0 -
Good grief there are some misinformed people about. It's reminded me why I gave up contributing to forums like this.
I have owned several brands of sheepskin boots over the years, mostly from Celtic Sheepskin (UK made if carbon footprint is an issue for you) and also Emu, and I've had slippers from John Lewis and M&S. I've also had friends who've owned Ugg Australia boots, and I have to say they swayed me, as they looked like the thickest warmest sheepskin out of any of the brands I'd seen, and they seemed to be very long lasting, especially the ultras. This is the first pair of them I've bought myself and I have to say they look very well made, I'm very impressed. I'll see how they hold up through the winter.
Oh and I'm not a slave to fashion, despite being only mid thirties, I have terrible arthritis in my feet, I literally wouldn't survive winter without Ugg boots and slippers.
There's a lot of really useful information in this thread, at the end of the day as mookie said it doesn't matter what brand you get, so long as you don't get cheap rubbish or fake or synthetic tat. Emu, Celtic Sheepskin, Ugg Australia (being careful where to buy as these are the most faked), Hartings and Kiwi Sheepskins are all incredibly good brands that I've had personal experience of over the years.0 -
There is a code in the code forum for 20% at ASOS. Ends midnight tonight. Works on Uggs. :j0

It is most sad but am in boot lust/ love with black Ugg Kensingtons. Cheapest to get these here is £200 plus £65/70 for slippers I am eyeing up and trying to justify buying thinking "well I am paying postage so means better value, plus will wear them alot etc...".I could have settled for the Bomber but they don't do black and need to replace black ones. Also, the gold pearl slippers..thniking may have to give in and order from the US.
Fed up though- bought a watch from US Ebay (is related please bear with!)and had to pay Parcel force and customs charge for about £20 on the £60 watch!! Trying to work out how much this may cost if Ugg's got "Parcelforced" anyone any ideas one where/ how/ when/ buying US-side and general joining me in Ugg Boots lust...Green and minimal chemicals is the new black- I know a fair old bit about sustainability, specially energy and transport stuff. If I can help- please ask!0 -

I know... but for £200 I could get the slippers as well (if my maths is right).
$198 + $70 + $32=
$300 exactly which is.... then getting 10% off with code so $270 =
£162.50 today! So if get £8 parcel force fee and VAT then should be about the same ish!! (fingers crossed am right- Maths more complicated so I get vague-ish...)Green and minimal chemicals is the new black- I know a fair old bit about sustainability, specially energy and transport stuff.
