There are some serious people who are looking to spend some serious cash at a time when money is cherished.
We need to be careful with comments like 'THEY AR FAKE', as we don't know.
The purpose of the forum is to help other people to save money and the best way to do that is to offer clear advice from personal experience.
    So...
    Report spam
Give advice based on your experience
Also, try to keep the threads short. most people do not have time to trawl through almost 5000 messages of silly chit chat in order to get to some help.
We are letting people down by not aloowing good solid advice.

My advice to UGg buyers is to wait for high street reductions. Someone on here who appears to be misinformed was of the impression that UGg Austraila will not sell below RRP. I was in the Bondi Junction Westifeld a few monhs ago and geuine UGg Australia were reduced by 20% - 30% due to the start of the summer season. No fashion item is ever marketed to expect 100% RRP throughout its shelf life, yes they expect that at the start of the season but not Mid season in a recession. Go to Oxford Street just before or after Christmas and see how many top brands are reduced, they all do it.
The main benefit of the high street is that you can pick up, check and try on the actual boots you buy - no risk.

I would suggest if you are looking for UGgs as an Xmas present then by them some EMUs and if they are still desperate for UGgs, buy them in the sales!

greenwheels, it is rare that uggs are reduced in price however, it has been said. If a site is only selling Uggs, is registered in China or is a new site then yes, the will be fakes. The way to get a discounted pair is by using a discount code to get a % off - and there are lots of those at the moment so steer clear of any site that has the word ugg in the website name.

The sales tend not to offer the 'basic classics' in the sales because the retailer knows that they can always get their money for them (hence them being just £10 cheaper in TK Maxx when they have them), but fashion colours as they will be back next year with a different colour and so they do not want to keep past seasons colours for next year.

Deckers do not just let anyone sell their uggs, that is a FACT, their brand is very heavily policed, however the people selling fakes will just say they are Uggs which is a generic term and so people get ripped off. A retailer will not be able to keep 100 pairs of boots in stock in one style and one colour. This is why they sell out this time of year. The only difference to this would be the offical Ugg Australia website and shop.

BTW - has anyone been to the shop? It is Ugg Heaven, so much to choose from. I went on Saturday and I was suppoinded by Uggs. They told me the ladies started from 3 1/2 but I am not sure, they were massive on my feet so I cannot get anything more than I have already got in the kids sizes.

    Mookie,

I've still got those damn black boots. I've sold them twice on eBay and both time the buyers - different buyers - have not paid!!!! I don't know what I am going to do with them but it's a good job they do not go out of fashion. At this rate I'll be saving them for my own daughters 14th birthday.....

    So...

Excuse me no disrespect to you but I as have many other regulars have given extremely helpful advice regarding buying genuine Ugg Australia boots. I have contributed info to several posters and probably saved a lot of them money identifying fakes. I also helped a member with a paypal claim with a pair of boots that were so obvious fake when he received them. Which is what this site is about.

The reason why myself and MrsJ are making a point is because so many times we have tried to sum up the info on these boots on one page and people dont even bother to read the last few posts, surely when researching a product you take the time to read what people have to say, it seems that on this thread the same questions are being asked and that is why there are so many posts for others to trawl through. This in turn makes it even harder for new members.

Its been said before there are rarely bargains on genuine Ugg Australia boots, stock is limited which is why if left too late you will not find the particular size/colour you are looking for.

As for saying they are fakes when some sites pop up, they have all the obvious warning signs of being fakes, and for some of us they stick out like a sore thumb but some people honestly have no idea especially if they have never heard of the boots but want them as a gift. This thread comes up right at the top of google due to its popularity on the subject uggs and because of Martins 1st post people may jump from page 1 to the last page and see a link and assume MSE have authenticated that seller which is not the case, these sites are pulled up by regulars because sometimes the reporting spam takes longer and in that time some poor person may have already parted with money. :money:

This thread is here to help people but as the saying goes...if its too good to be true...then it usually is. In the case of these boots this sums it up nicely! If people would heed this repeated advice that is the best money saving tip there is.
