Forgive me then, I would have put my mortage on the UGG name being copyrighted by Deckers.

I have read it in many places, after a quick few min browse, I could only find Hartings... Quote "In the nineties American company Deckers Outdoor bought UGG Holdings, owners of the trademark rights to the UGG and UGG Australia brands. "

According to them, Anyone that uses the brand UGG on their boots is infringing Deckers rights. At least, thats what I have believed.

    Forgiven :D

:rotfl: yes I actually felt quite ashamed sitting here in my Ugg Australia boots last night that arent even made in Australia. :o

I cannot justify making future purchases on Ugg Australia boots if they continue to hike the price by £10-£20 a year. The Hartings price on Canterbury boots is like half to a third of the prices of UA with free delivery too. If they keep going up I will look at alternative brands. I bought some grommies for my DD they are too big and sit in the cupboard but the quality of them is no different to my UA boots.

I have seen Sienna Miller in magazine photos wearing other brands, also Kate Moss has been photographed with her daughter in another brand too. They are both in the following link as are Pamela Anderson in other uggs and Jessica Alba.

So even celebrities wear other brands with pride.

    How dare you Mookie!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I hope you were not spotted, you never know you could have been papped!
    You did make me chuckle.
Am so pleased that the Celebs are wearing the other brands now, as I know that some of the 'ordinary, not celeb' folk like to be seen in the brands worn by the stars. This is how the Deckers Ugg craze took off!
I wonder if I could get a celeb to wear one of my homemade creations, then I could make it big! Could call mine the Nanna numpty brand, that's what my dgd calls me.:rotfl:

I would not purchase boots from the first of the 2 links that you quote above. I don't like the look of the website.Just on that basis alone, I'm not saying that they are fake. It's a personal choice & a judgement on my part.

But would not have a problem with purchasing from the second one - uggbootshop.com
You consider both of these to be fake.
On what basis may I ask?
Just have a look at their disclaimer - they are not claiming to sell Deckers Uggs, they are selling their own brand of Uggs
Surely claiming as you do that these are so laughably fake would have to be backed up with fact. I'm sure if the company concerned were to read this they could have an argument for libel on their hands.

Looks like I'm quickly becoming the badboy of this thread, doesn't it.

The first link, the boots are fake, 1 price, 2, The copyright sign on the soles look too close together for me, The label doesnt look quite right, although I cant find a close up shot to see for sure. But if in doubt, my point number 1 is enough to be a clear indication . The 2nd link to me are also fake, and I'll tell you why. Deckers own Ugg Australia, as we all know. Now these boots are made by Urban Ugg Co. Conveniently named company dont you think, with a conveniently placed label at the heel of the boots, conveniently made to look 99.9% the same as Deckers Ugg's. Everything about these boots are either copy's or exact imitations of Deckers boots, down to the label, the style etc etc. If I was a company in Australia making Ugg style boots, wouldnt you try and be original, i.e. Not copy Deckers ? thats all this and other companies are doing. To me, copies, imitations = not the real thing = fake.

Again, I am not nessesarily saying that they are inferior quality etc etc, I'm just saying that when I look at them, they are fake for the reasons I have stated above.
  • still waiting for my uggs from shudoo to arrive, ordered them wednesday morning at 10am :(:(:(

Cage, thats how Ugg boots have always been made long before Deckers tried to make the Ugg name their own. Its like a tradition that goes back years in Australia. I know what you are trying to say with the labeling but take for example a loaf of bread...they are all packaged in the same style wrapper but made by different companies what you buy depends on what you like. Jeans...Jeans is a generic term for trousers made of denim, nobody owns the name jeans but several companies make their own version, and they nearly all have the same style pockets, labels, orange stitching and studs that doesnt make one fake and another genuine, if you wear levis and I wear diesel they are both jeans, but its down to preference which label you wear.

Look at this link, the only boots not allowed to be called Ugg boots are those made of synthetic upper or even suede, Ugg boots are any boots made from sheepskin in this particular style. this is quite a good link because it gives an all round view on ugg boots overall.

You are very knowledgeable on how to identify and fake deckers ugg, dodgy websites and scammers, but you dont seem to grasp the thing with genuine manufacturers of other brands.
  • mine have just arrived :)i had just got off the phone to shudoo as well enquiring about their whereabouts, they said they can't help as once it's been sent out to home delivery network they can't track it.but luckily they came 10 mins after that call!
