Ahh I see. They'd be no good then. She tucks her jeans into her Uggs, so if they were really short they would look silly I reckon.

The Bootbarn Classic Short Women's are a good price anyway.. will probably go for them!

You'll have to let us know when your Uggs arrive, and if you've been targetted by the nasty Tax man!

    Sorry to butt in. :rotfl:

Kids short boots are the same height as short womens...i have short kids and my old short ones were womens they were exactly the same height.

The talls do come up shorter though.

And the kids are wider fitting than the womens ones.

  • Ooooh... thanks. There's another option to consider then! From what I've read though, cozyboots are one of the websites which you are more likely to get charged for customs though, as they use Fedex. Now I know the kids tall exist though, I'll have a browse around! Thanks :)

Butt in? Lol, don't be silly.. you're like the MSE Ugg expert! :p:rotfl:

Anyway, it doesn't really matter.. my mum is not convinced lol, she said she would rather get her the womens ones 'just to be on the safe side'.. you can't please some people! :D

check out this ebay item. its for kids uggs and shows the difference in kids/adult sizes.

They havent explained that well for the sizing, the kids boots are a different shaped sole but they are wider from the heel area up to the middle where they say UGG, they also have more material over the top area making them a wider fit in general, on my kids ones you cant really see the trim that runs around the edge of the sole when you look down on them, they are defo wider and they look fatter when you compare them. I read on a site last year that the kids are a width fitting bigger than womens, this is due to them being designed as unisex. Hope this makes sense :rotfl:

I just thought I would point this out because I have 2 pairs of kids ones and narrow feet, I would never buy kids again because they do feel a bit too roomy for me compared to the fit of the womens.

thanks mookie, that really helps. :T

i only referred to that listing because its the only place i've seen mention of the size differences. i was tempted to go for the kids, but after reading that, i decided on womens because i didn't want them any shorter. never mind, still a bargain!!!

Lol, i think my DH would agree there. Last night when I confessed i had ordered on his card he said How many pairs have you got?! How many are you gonna sell on ebay? I told him I had a clearout last year and have 4 pairs now, plus the new ones and he said I have to sell a pair, he doesnt understand that short ones go with different things to talls :p

I then tried my luck saying I would sell my short choccies in exchange for a tall pair...it didnt work.

I love my Uggs i think they are worth the money because I actually wear them unlike many of the £40/£50 uncomfy boots sitting in my wardrobe, and even used Uggs have a good resale value on ebay if looked after. thats my excuse and i'm sticking to it ;)

Well if the price is not a major issue the womens are a slightly better looking boot, its only slight but the kids ones just look bulkier. I would take a pic of mine but I dont know if I'm allowed to post it. ;)

Yes if they were picked out, unfortunately sheepskin is not exempt under customs rules for kids boots.

Have you looked at these in the Uk,

    Love from Australia boots,
    http://www.shudoo.co.uk/product/love-from-australia/kids-cupid/

    or these (free delivery)...
    http://www.grommies.co.uk/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=1713

    Or these.. http://www.celtic-sheepskin.co.uk/cat_kids_boots.asp

All of these are sheepskin just like Ugg Australia and on a 2 year old would look really cute!

The other option is ebay some sellers are happy to mark them as a gift so you may not get charges. :D
