Ugg Boots from £62 delivered

For those of you who are thinking about buying UGG boots (non-genuine brands) from Australia or elsewhere in a bid to save some money, make sure you check the import duty & tax rates first.
My mum recently purchased some tall boots from www.australianuggboots.com.au for £76 + p&p. Upon arrival in the UK, she was charged approx. £13 collection charge from parcel force, and £37 import duty & tax. As these boots are sheepskin/suede, the import duty is classified as 17% and the tax is the usual rate of 17.5%. Please note also that the combined rate of 34.5% is of the total purcahse and as such you also get charged for the p&p rate you have chosen, not just for the cost of the boots.
Customs are always on a higher alert at this time of year but the sellers clearly mark export papers as ugg boots and this prompts easy detection by customs upon arrival at the UK.
On a more positive note, the boots she has are absolutely fantastic quality and genuine Aussie made UGG type boots. For those of you who want genuine sheepskin/suede UGG type boots, try www.justsheepskin.com who are UK based and offer free p&p. They sell at selected retailers (such as John Lewis, Office, Selfridges, House of Fraser and others are named on their website) and I purchased my tall chestnut boots from Office for £85 and I am very pleased with them.0 -
Right, that's it! Having spent all afternoon in a waterlogged, muddy field where I couldn't wear my beloved UGG's (was even too muddy for my Canterbury boots!) and suffering freezing cold, crampy feet as a result
I've decided I need to search for some sheepskin lined wellies!!!
Even sheepskin socks/liners to put in ordinary wellies would do. Does anyone know where I might anything like this please? :A“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

Footwear - sheepskin boots, lambskin sheep skin boot
Have you thought about the sheepskin insoles for your normal 20 green wellies? I'm sure they will do the job. I guess it depends how often you wear your wellies. I don't think mine get used more than twice a year! x0 -

WOWWWW!!!! they are just P-E-R-F-E-C-T!!!!!! :j :T
I'll try to ignore the price tag though!  but then again a decent pair of wellies would cost £50-£60plus the cost of socks on top, and if they're as lush and comfortable as my UGG boots ... ... (I just need to overlook the very small fact that this was why I bought the Canterbury boots but I don't want to get them ruined in muddy, waterlogged fields  :rotfl: )
