I'm not 100% sure how they do it, but I don't think they will mark it as a gift as this would be fraud. I think they will just pay the charges for you.0 -

thats what i don't understand, as the charges would be this end, and the goods would not be released until customs is paid
not sure how they would pay it, unless they have a way of avoiding customs there end0 -
Sounds daft paying £62 for [F]Ugg boots from abroad without trying them on. That's what i'll do, get them from China for £5, and sell them to the daft birds for £59.99 and call them fUgg Boots :money: they won't know the difference :jFounder member MSE Jet Airways Mile High Club

Hi just to let you know I have been in contact with James at aussie direct he reassures me these are genuine Decker corp. UGG boots.....He also said it is an urban myth that these boots are made in China...they are made in other places including Australia and New Zealand...aussie direct choose Australia. Also my sister went shopping today and tried on some in KG (short ones for £150...as they had no long ones...shop said they are all pre ordered and the boots they get in just fly out the shop...)and when she checked the label it said they were made in Australia.....so it looks like some of the guides on EBAY regarding UGGs are not correct. Aussie direct sell GENUINE UGGS at fabulous prices. I love mine they are so comfy.0

i want to order a pair of these ugg boots for my mrs
reading through this topic , i guess the best place is australia direct, is there a way i can order so i don't incur custom charges on delivery
which option is everyone choosing and what are the custom charges if any?
how does that work?
thanks
I am a little confused after reading the Customs Australia Website:
Answer: All items posted to the UK may be subject to duty and Value Added Tax (VAT).
The rate of duty applied is very variable and full details can only be obtained from HM Revenue & Customs directly.
The normal duty free allowance for posted items is 15 pounds sterling. Once this figure is exceeded duty and VAT will be applied to the total value of the item and charged to the recipient. This charge cannot be pre-paid by the sender.
In the case of gifts (eg birthday, Christmas etc), the threshold is 36 pounds sterling. The word "gift" should be clearly stated on the customs declaration form attached to the package.0 -
I placed an order abput 1am this morning and selected the UPS Courier Service. I got the confirmation email almost straight away but when I click in the link from there to track my order, it takes me to the order confirmation page with my order number on and says to email them for my order status as they do not provide an online status. Did anyone else get this?0

Hi, don't worry.. You can only track the order once they send you the UPS trackable reference no. They will only get this once the boots have been handed over to the UPS Courier. This may not be until Monday now. Hope this helps.0

Hi JB, was there a customs slip attached with your parcel either saying that it was a gift or customs tax exempt or anything?0
