Hi folks,
I bought 4 pairs of Uggs from Aussie Direct before the doubts started to appear. Having owned a number of pairs previously I soon became concerned as to their authenticity. One pair I would say were genuine, however the other three have poor stitching and printed labels inside.
Without reading through the hundreds of posts can anyone advise me of the current position with Aussie direct and where I would stand if they are fake. Can I reclaim through my credit card or is there complications due to them being in Australia?
Thanks in advance,
Matt
If you suspect that they are fake you need to ask Aussie direct the question and await their response. if they insist they are genuine say you do not believe they are and that you want a refund. If they refuse you can then go after your Credit Card company. There is now case law that says that purchase overseas ARE covered under the Consumer Credit act, so they are jointly liable with the provider of the goods, services, etc. (See my thread in the Credit Card Topics for the link to the case)
Your problem is likely to be actually proving they are fake. You may need to get an expert to examine them and provide a report before getting your CC company to accept liability. That will clearly cost you money, althoughif the expert supported your assertion then I would suggest that you could claim the costs involved back from the CC company as well as the purchase costs. However, I would advise them that you are doing this first and give them a further opportunity to refund before commissioning any expert report.0 -
Can anyone tell me how long it takes for Hartings' boots to arrive? Ordered around 10 days ago.

'Scuse me if I do anything wrong I'm a newbie but I feel like I've been here forever after the amount of days it took me to read this thread!!
When I got the Ugg bug I decided I just HAD to have a pair.
I couldn't bare to part with the £170 the long ones cost in the shops though, (I'm meant to be saving at the moment) so I thought I'd just put up with a cheap pair and that would end my Ugg obsession. But it didn't!!!
the more I saw them the more I wanted them! so I decided to research where I might find a bargain, and thats where this site came in. Finally last night I bit the bullet and ordered a pair of tall Canterbury's from Hartings in chocolate. But changed my mind and thought I'd be better of ordering a Black pair, a colour the Canterbury's don't seem to come in from what I've seen, so after much debating about 2 hours later I cancelled my order, and ordered a Black pair from Kiwi Sheepskins. I hope all goes well from here ...just gotta say thanks to you guys on the thread though :Tcause without you I 'd be walking on my heels in my River Island ones by now:rotfl:0 -
me again guys, I`ve just gone back to REI.COM to order another pair of ugg boots kids in black, but I don`t know what I`m doing wrong I can`t find them
Helllllllppppppp
Thanks for all your help

I dont expect you to search back through the posts :rotfl: so this is the latest on here...
a member has given their boots to MSE to be assessed to see if they are fake, i would keep an eye on here for the result if i were you hopefully advice will follow on how you can get your money back.
If you send them off you would probably receive a letter saying if they are fake that they have been destroyed so i would maybe call up your card company for advice.
I have been watching this thread as i would be interested to know if they are fake as i was one of the few that had doubts originally about their boots.
I hope you get something back if they do turn out to be fake.0 -

My lovely Uggs are faulty!! The stitching around the top of the boot is coming undone in 3 places and I only wore them for a week!!. So here is the one 'beware' if buying them from overseas as you'll have to send them back for a refund. Luckily I got them from Cloggs however, they have none left in the size I need. They have been great though, I bought a size 1 to try but they are too small, I can get my foot in but I can see my toes moving so maybe too small so they, and the ones that are faulty, are going back and they pay the postage.
This now means I have no uggs. My poor feet are freezing. I am desperate to find some more, even if I have to get them in the UK, I called one local company today and asked they had any and she snapped 'NO' down the phone. Good grief, would not have bought them from there are after that anyway!! maybe I would of, but they didn't have any.
Anyone any ideas? They've got to be a Kids size 2 - US size 3. Please. Anyone. not too keen on chestnut but I'll take them if that is all that is going I guess.
I have some short classic black kids size US3 /UK3 here if anyone is interested, PM me!! I reckon they'll fit a 3-4 UK size. I got them from cozyboots but they are too big for me (just edited to add, these are not faulty, the ones I got to replace the ones that are too big are faulty).

my Grommies have given a little - I think that's what's so good about natural sheepskin (it stretches and molds to your own feet/legs).

I have been reading this forum for a week or two with growing interest. I have been thinking of buying some ugg style boots for both myself and my little girl.
I eventually decided to take a look at one or two of the sites mentioned. What I was keen for was to buy from a uk website - rather than pay some of those scary extra charges for bringing the boots into the country.
I have taken the plundge and bought my little girl a pair of grommies for christmas. I didn't want to pay too much and only paid £26.99 and there was no postage charges!
I am now thinking of getting myself a pair as they go up to a UK size 5. I am really tempted by the price and the quality is very good too.0 -
Can anyone tell me please if Cozyboots ship their Ugg boots in the original boxes? I know some places don't, and as they're for a pressie I'd prefer them in the box. Thanks in advance :-)0
