United Airlines UA 935 on Friday August 7th

We have received notification of compensation under EU rules as the flight returned to Heathrow
However UA are refusing to compensate for a further delay to the replacement flightthe following day of over 3 hours which then led to a missed connection for a subsequent flight from LAX
In total final arrival was 48 hours late
Does anyone have any advice
My attempts to gain further compensation are being stone walled by UA

€600 would be the compensation payable whether your originally scheduled journey got you to your final destination 5 hours late or 45 hours late...are you wanting to claim €600 + €600?
was your onward flight on the same ticket or separate? did you need to purchase a new ticket?
