I have looked at the lease and there is a no laundry clause. There is also a no singing, no pianola and no amplified anything clause. My point is that the clause is out dated and should not be legally allowed to apply in this, educated, day and age.
is there a no shed, tables and chairs etc clause?Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
I have tried all the above approaches originally bringing up the subject at a residents committee meeting. At this meeting I got a little but not much negative response to the idea of a communal line in a currently unused area. I heard nothing else so went ahead and got out m whirly gig one day for a couple of glorious sunshine, weekday afternoon, hours. The place erupted! I was getting messages and emails from the management company including a 'site visit' to try to locate the monstrosity. I then asked again for the situation to be put to a vote amongst the 23 property owners. The email went out and there was only 8 replies, 6 negative so the elected residents committee directors (we own the freehold and use a management company) decided that it was a no. I do not think that the vote was done fairly. The committee heads stated that they were all for the line previously but the old bat and her cronies decided otherwise. I decided to ignore and put out my washing anyway which resulted in the committee head shouting loudly at me by my washing. My partner does not want me to continue bloody mindedly since he received a strong email threatening him with legal action, charged to us through our maintenance charge. It all seems so unfair. The same clause in the lease outlaws chairs sheds pots and sky dishes all of which the complainers have in abundance! I was simply told in the shouting episode that they had decided that those were OK for them and just because they can do as they want does not mean I can!0

I don't think you're going to get anywhere by continuing to argue about the issue. You're likely just to make enemies and cause yourself more problems in the long run. I've lived in a flat that had no outdoor space for drying clothes (it was above shops) and used a dehumidifier, which means clothes dry quickly with no moisture buildup inside.0
