Hi all,
Not sure if im doing this in the correct way but wanted some advice or help from someone with experience.
It has been announced my position will be made redundant within the next 6 months (after the TSA period) and there will be not redundancies. Instead, I have been offered a new position which will be a promotion and will involve me attending an interview in order to be successful but I have been told this is just a formality. Due to personal reason I would rather have/take redundancy, will I have the right to do this as the job I was employed for will now go or would I have to accept the new role being offered?
The new role would be based in the same location as I currently work but would involve more responsibility as it would be a higher grade and would be working for a different business unit.

It comes down to suitable alternative.
If they are saying the job is a suitable alternative there is no need for an interview.
if the role is well within you capabilities and skill sets just not wanting it probably won't be enough.0
