Have a CCJ attached to my clearscore account that isn’t in my name (family member with a similar name but given after my name changed with marriage etc at a property I’ve not lived in for many years)
Contacted to report the error.
Got told I have to chase it up though it’s not in my name and basically nothing they could do though it’s their error.
Explained the family member with ccj is actually terminally ill and cannot do much to help me but can provide all proof of my identity and residency.
Got told nope, my problem to sort out.
So am now stuck with a ccj on my credit report that is not mine.
Luckily doesn’t show on my Experian or anything else but sucks that it shows here when I’ve never in my life had anything like that.
So yeah, not very helpful, not willing to correct mistakes or investigate. Pretty much feel palmed off and having to carry the weight of someone else’s ccj.0 -
Sounds like it's the creditor's error.
Chase it up with them.0 -
Clearscore only reports what Equifax tells them.
First move might be to pay £2 for a credit report direct from Equifax to see if the CCJ is actually on that report. If it is then start the Equifax complaints procedure. If it isn't then start the Clearscore complaints procedure.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

The only "score" you need to bother about is that used by a lender when you apply for credit and no-one knows exactly how each lender produces their score.
Just ignore Clearscore's opinion - for that is all it is.
I get reports from all three freebies and their "scores" are wildly different from each other. I ignore them all.
Edit
You may find MSE's article on <credit scoring> of some interest.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

I'd be very wary of giving any personal data to ClearScore, as their security is more lax than this forum! In order to set up an account there is no validation of your email address - and you can then go on and log all of your financial information in there. A professional colleague has been given access to someone else's account because of this - you can see his blog about it if you go to philbradley[dot]typepad[dot]com (I can't put in links as a newbie! Just substitute the [dot] for a . and it should work)0

Hi hopefully there us a Clear Score expert here, just wondering does anyone know why my credit score for the next few months is already showing on my account, and it is substantially lower than what it is currently.
Also a question of a general credit scoring nature, do accounts which have a 0 balance but show as closed affect your score?
Thanks0 -

Nothing affects your score or rating as it's not real
You can safely ignore them and just concentrate on the history and data that is showing making sure that's correct0
