Is there any benefits to joining the MSE CreditClub? I am already on Noddle and ClearScore but aside from a meaningless score from Experian CreditMatch I get no view on my Experian reports.
I read that soon MSE will give full reports from Experian so I am guessing at that point it would be a good idea, but before that does MSE have any advantages? Does it keep records of past scores? Historical data?...

MSE credit club doesn't yet give you access to your full Experian Credit File. But it does give info based on what is on your Experian credit file.under the following headings, so I find it useful to check.

    Court data
    Missed payments
    Debt to income ratio
    Credit utilisation
    Credit applications.
    Account Stability
    Residential Status
    Employment Status

It also gives you a nice green smiley face, or a sad red face, against each category depending on whether it considers the info on your file in that category is positive or negative

I get green smiley faces in each category except 'debt to income' ratio where I get a sad red face. But that is because I'm a pensioner with a large amount of credit card debt (all stooged at 0%) and limited income.

Oh, really? I was under the impression that MSE currently only gave you a score, compared to CreditClear/Noddle which do give you those headings

No, it does give you smiley faces under those headings, but not actual report data the other two do

I read the Terms and Conditions and did not like them.
It seemed to me that you would be giving this new company the right to share your personal data with any agency they deemed suitable for their purposes. They do NOT say which organisations they would restrict this sharing of information to.
Yes, at the moment it is only Equifax, but you will have given them the right to amend that part of the agreement at any time in future, not good in my opinion

It seems likely they need to share your data in order to compile the recommendations from which they make their money. The alternative is to pay a fee. :(

Just a tip. if you are worried about spam email, do what I do; make yourself a second email to use just for sending for freebies, offers, and joining sites like that . Then it can be spammed to their hearts content!

The lender probably hasn't updated Equifax yet.

I often find that my credit cards are a couple of months behind, and when making balance transfers they tend to show on both cards for a period.
  • Hi i signed up to Clearscore a few months ago to see what would come up as i was nearing the end of my IVA. It showed very little information which was useful and i expected it to say straight away that i was in an IVA or that loads of my accounts were defaulted on. Nothing of the sort! It just seems an overview and i guess you have to take it as a free service and not as a guarantee. Would be nice to show more detail.
  • You'll only see the accounts that reported to Equifax.
