Seller refused to sell 'no reserve' item.

I was the second bidder to place a bid for a pushchair/travel system that didn't have a reserve on it. The first bid was 99p and I won it at £1.20 but the seller emailed me to say they had re-listed it as they didn't want to sell it so cheap. The relisting shows they have now put a reserve price on the pushchair/travel system.
I can understand that they wanted more than £1.20 but, in your opinion, is it OK that I feel be a bit miffed that they chose to withdraw the pushchair? I wonder how long it will show that I need to pay for it even though I obviously won't be.
Oh well... I don't blame them I suppose.

Yes I would be miffed and could well consider leaving poor feedback to warn other potential buyers that the seller refuses to sell.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Yes, it is.
If the seller doesn't want to sell things so cheaply, they should put a reserve on from the start and not circumvent the associated fee like this.0 -
Pay for it, do an INR and leave a neg.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

I would pay for it also, Its £1.20 that you will get back anyway. But you remove their option of opening a non paying bidder case against you and you get to leave feedback.
Just word it carefully so they do not have an excuse to get it removed.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Yes like the other said, I would pay for it then invoke an INR. You will get your money back and the seller might learn from this lesson!0

Are they a new seller who does not know what is what, or someone who is trying it on? What is they're feedback rating?0

You would be amazed how many established sellers get into nasty little habits. There is a TRS in one of my categories who was complaining a few months back that ebay would not remove a defect when he cancelled a sale.
The listing was frankly a bit of a mess and had an element of choice in it (sort of choose the colour you want but I reserve the right to send something different if I am out of stock). Buyer bought item, seller told them he was sending a blue one as he was out of the red they ordered, buyer complained so seller cancelled and got a defect.
Apparently ebay wouldn't remove it but seller insisted he had always sold this way and had never been stopped and it had always been in his listings with no problems. His excuse was that he sold on various platforms so might well suddenly sell out on Amazon and not be able to fulfil his ebay orders- so had the right to substitute as buyers were clearly warned in the listing this might happen.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Just the rubbish ones. Thankfully they are eventually banned one by one, leaving us decent sellers to thrive.0 -

I wouldn't do this if you use your Ebay account for both buying and selling - not worth the risk of 'revenge' for the sake of £1.200
