After last week's success I thought I would go for week 2 of a weekly spend challenge. Please feel free to join in - I spent way less last week than I normally would.
Hello everyone. Welcome to the Weekly Spend Challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.
Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:
Green - within budget
Red - overbudget
Purple - zero spend
Orange - made money over the week
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.

I'll like to sign up again please as it really focused the mind.
I am going to say £50 which will include any lunch I buy but not main grocery shop. It will include the random shops in between grocery shops and any other random buys. I won't include Accupuncture appointment cost.0 -
Welcome. It did me the world of good last week just to have that £30 in my purse and think before I handed it over for anything. Not giving up

Hi. Please count me in this week.last week I was left with £3 left
although I had a way bigger budget as it included lots of things. Whereas this is unaccounted for things as its easier to organise myself that way.
I'll say £40 please.0 -
Ok couldn't even begin to work out how much I needed last week! Going to be a bit more expensive than I can really afford this week as it is my son's birthday and I will be going to visit him tomorrow (oh has said he'll give me some money to buy lunch) and it is a friend's birthday and I have agreed to go to her birthday bash that is in a pub on Thursday, but will drive so can nurse 1 drink to keep the costs down....
So am going to pledge £25 and hope it come in under this....
I'd like to have 4 NSDs as wellDF as at 30/12/16
Wombling 2025: £87.12
NSD March: YTD: 35
Grocery spend challenge March £253.38/£285 £20/£70 Eating out

Hello
Last week I spent £0 :j
This week is mega busy and no doubt a bit spendy. I am going to say £20 miscellaneous spending and £30 grocery spending so that is £50 for the week.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases
One income, home educating family0 -
Hi
I would like to join in this week and will aim for £40. I'm buying heating oil this week but will not count this as it has been budgeted for.
Thanks

Ah new thread!
Well last week we took £200 and spent £196.30. Happy with that as it meant we didn't break into 'normal' income, leaving us with more money this month for debts, groceries, bills, stuff for the new baby etc!
Ok this week I'm going to aim for £10 of unplanned spending. Have a good week all x0 -
After our morning HE activities we went to a picnic to celebrate HE one of the other parents bought a piece of cake and a coffee at the cafe, I was so tempted, but I held true to my DFW ways and resisted.

Well done on a zero spend week BaileysBabe - I am seriously impressed. And welcome to everyone joining this week's challenge.
I've managed a NSD today (no surprise at work really), and found 75p of roadkill lurking around and about. Nice. Not giving up

I spent £20 by not really thinking properly! I'd gone to drop something off and went past a shop I don't often go near. It was too tempting (lesson learnt!) Although it helps having cash in my purse rather than a card.
So £21 spent of £40......£19 left0
