I know its so frustrating, think they are struggling due to lack of funds.
I guess the moral of the story is trust nobody when buying a second hand vehicle even if they seem decent, check everything before you buy including car history, service history they say it has, any proof of said work done, etc, dont pay with cash, check what you sign as a receipt( he tried to claim we were traders, tried to say sold as seen then!!!), keep advert you might need proof & please remember you have the right for it to be as described, even if from private seller, & if it is from a trader you have got statutory rights under the sale of goods act!!!
