Leak under sink, what will seal it until I can get a PLumber in?

We had something similar when we moved in to our new home. If you have one of these screwed into the waste on the side, this may be where it leaks. When removing a dishwasher the rubber insert should have been put back (but it usually gets lost). You can buy a new one from B&Q or similar shops and swap them.
