Vodafone contract
My mobile phone contract ran out beginning of June 2015, I phoned them on the 29th April to cancel and give them at least 30 days notice. On receiving my bill at the end of May I phoned them again just to make sure this wAs my last bill to be only told it had not been cancelled due to I took the pac code and didn't activate it , so I cancelled it again. I received a letter stating it has now been cancelled and disconnected on 15/06/15. When I received my bill at the end of July I was still paying so I phoned again only to be told it had not been cancelled but I was assured it would be this time. At the end of August I received my bill and was still paying when I phoned it had still not been cancelled I asked for a refund which I was put through to a refund department which I was promised I will get a refund and the phone would be disconnected within 72hrs. I have just received the bill for this month and I have been billed yet again. I have 2 phones with them my other one does not run out until next year and pay them both together do I change account details for the phone which I am trying to cancel and then cancel the DD or are there other options. Thank you from a very frustrated individual.

You have written confirmation from them that the contract would end on 15th June. I assume you didn't ask for another PAC - that cancels the notice and the contract runs on if you don't then exercise it within 30 days.
Cancelling a direct debit is not the way to go. Vodafone are so incompetent and uncaring you will end up with defaults on your external credit files for the next 6 years. It's likely to take you longer to achieve cancellation than that through the proper routes.
Contact the Web Relations Team as guided endlessly on the Vodafone Complaints thread. They are the only people at Vodafone who care, help and actually do what they say they will.0 -
Thanks for the info found an online complaints form on their website would that be the same department? Also I was advised to change the contract to payg then cancel the DD when my bill is zero? Is this correct? One last silly question should I post this in the Vodafone complaint thread? once again thanks for answering.0

Not exactly. You have to cut and paste the link on the Vodafone Complaints thread AND include WRT135 - MSE in the heading. Quote the resulting reference number on here and the WRT will contact you.
As for what they tell you on the phone - I would never 1) believe it or 2) act upon it. When you have a final bill showing zero it should, however, be safe to cancel the direct debit.0 -
Thank you for your help I have filled the form in and posted the number on the Vodafone complaints thread.0

I noticed. Hopefully they will be in touch early next week and you will find them refreshing after trying to cope with the normal Vodafone customer services.0
