That's about it as Freddy says above. Debt collectors cannot hurt you, they cannot issue court proceedings against you (only Horizon or the landowner - very unlikely, but come back if you get a LBC or real stamped court papers, do not ignore these - but again these are very unlikely).
You just stay in ignore mode. Don't go offering anything, they won't accept anything less than their pound of flesh, but it will flag up to them that you're a live fish and on their hook, and as you are offering some money, they will press even harder thinking you will soon break.
There are hundreds upon hundreds following forum advice to ignore debt collectors who have come to no harm whatsoever.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
